Post-Game Talk: Dallas Does Skinner

Yes it was very noticeable right from the start of the game. He looked mobile and composed earlier games. Today he looked slow and indecisive. Dallas did some scouting on him big time.

He can’t PK or clear the net front, and with our other 2 RD being Bouchard and an LD…. It’s playing with fire to run him at all — he winds up out there on critical PKs trying to move the Rantanens of the world every time because theres no one else.

Skinner turned a W into an L. Almost all by himself. Yet again. Its significant. It gives Dallas hope after having little of it the first two periods. A road W in game one is monumental. Skinner gave the game back. What a backbreaker goal to give up at start of third. Then the next one, and next one, and next one. I never wanted to see this fool back in our net again.

Whats it gonna take. The homecrowd jeering "Skinner" "Skinner". Somehow the home crowd loves this tool.

But apparently we're "not fans" because we're sick of seeing this same guy lose us games on his own for three consecutive f***ing postseasons now.

Where are the "whack a mole" garbage-brained posters to admit they were wrong now? The same sentient clumps of fecal matter who came in to insult us after Skinner's shutouts?

We gave Stu his flowers in the last two Vegas games, were even willing to look past him being the worst playoff goalie per period before that. Where are these people now?

I think the shit PK is mostly on the goalie, and not just Skinner.

The PK was unplayable for the first 4 games of the Kings series (Pickard wasn’t great on it either), then kind of stabilized, then was actually pretty good against Vegas. Because we were getting the odd save.

Then Skinner decides to do his thing again. I don’t perceive the PK was getting picked apart or anything like that. Just every shot goes in.
Skinner stunk from first period in this game. You were telling me it wasn't the case. Not sure why.

He was shaky from 9mins in. That getting stripped clean of the puck was telltale. Skinner always off his game when that happens. He did it 3 other times in the game. In the third the crowd was laughing about it. As in WTF he's doing.

Skinner in his head is a magician with the puck. To everbody else he's bad at puck handling.

Its the trouble with Skinner when he has games like this where he tries to handle puck too much its a sign he' not mentally prepared to play a simple game. When he starts getting overconfident he gets burned.

The lucky stop on the point shot hitting knob of his stick was the same point shot that scored on him in the third. Difference is I recognize the problem the first time it happened.

The fake head snap has become an epidemic in the league, with no repercussions. At a minimum the player needs to be fined and his mug goes up on the embellishment board, with a warning if it happens again it is a minimum one game suspension. It makes a garbage league even more trashy.
Didn't a Carolina or Washington player get an embellishment penalty for getting slammed into the boards?

Oh all those posters were suddenly thinking Skinner was god again because Vegas can't score a goal to save their lives. Vegas were shooting right into pads and logo. Its all they were doing. Dallas can actually make some plays.

Looks like most of our pain was self inflicted carelessness.

Yup, just too many careless penalties. Perry’s was dumb too. Kulak cannot be in the box multiple times, especially with Ekholm out, we need him on the kill.

This team is entertaining at least, always a roller coaster 🤣

The high sticking call on Kane was legit. The replay on the broadcast came into frame too late.

Perry and Kane need to watch their sticks.

The whole team needs to lock it down better, and they can win this series.
I never played pro hockey, but I will never understand how you can high stick guys so easily.

I guess it is stupid stick lift attempts at bad times?

Just pure idiocy from these guys.

It’s a total mess. The power play is basically pass it to McDavid, then watch him skate around before he inevitably turns it over after deferring on a few looks at the net.
Spot on really. I don’t understand how this team keeps doing the same thing over and over expecting things to change.

Dallas played like 5 quality minutes in this game, all we needed was the goalie to come up with a big save or two to bail out a team that played strong defense otherwise. A seeing eye shot from distance albeit screened but freaking fight for position, another shot from distance albeit a good shot but be big in net for a change and another when the slug couldn't get over to get in the way of the shot. Bing, bang boom and you get a loss. Why this guy is never ready to play series is beyond me, he's a massive reason why the Oilers are always behind to start series and not coincidentally the one series they played from ahead was when Pickard played.

I don't ever want to see a goaltender give up on a scoring chance. The Duschesne goal was disgusting. He didn't give his team any saves. Now that being said the PK was a train wreck losing their structure, falling all over the ice, and screening their goalie. Add a non functioning PP that had a couple chances to extend the lead and put a dagger against Dallas. PP was terrible.

Special teams and goaltender were always going to be critical keys to this series. This team simply cannot afford bad penalties 200 feet from their net and carelessness with their sticks. This was largely a self-loss.
