I’m not even going to talk about Skinner because unfortunately that just is what it is. Need to work around him in Game 2 and there is a lot that can be done to make that better.

The forecheck the Stars came at us with was the heaviest we’ve faced in the playoffs by far, and they actually have the talent to finish chances in tight unlike Vegas or LA. I think this caught us off guard. If Ekholm is at all available - get him in because Stecher was getting killed and Bouchard was doing his best to hand them one a few times under pressure. Puck needs to get moving way faster and we need to win way more battles low.

PK is trash, but I don’t really know what we’re supposed to do other than get another goalie. I didn’t think there was any egregious error on any of them. Don’t take penalties, that’s all we can do.

McDavid is over handling the puck at all strengths, and it’s crippling him and pretty much single handedly crippling the power play. He needs to get the puck moving, the skating around until he turns it over thing needs to end yesterday. Shoot the god damn puck once in a while maybe.

I’d be concerned if we didn’t have a carbon copy of that Game 1 about a half dozen times (literally) over the past 4 years. I think how aggressive they were on our D surprised us and we’ll adjust. Find a way to get a win in Game 2 then get Pickard in net and go from there.

Honestly the game turned out exactly as I thought.

Lost on goaltending and special teams. Lost the battle but will win the war.

Oilers never start series on time with the Vegas one being the exception.

The saving grace is we are a late series team and Good Skinner shows his face on Game 4. Until then we should play Pickard.

A f***ing crushing collapse, and an embarassment after 2 really solid periods. WTF is with this team, man I swear. FFS, As always, as ever, the Oilers with the self inflicted head wounds to completely sewer themselves. All they had to do was f***ing hold it over a final 20 minutes and they chose to turn in that.

If there was ever a game and period to forget it's that 3rd and this one, but I'm frankly worried this heralds a return to their fragile collective state. Skinner reverts to form, a few idiotic penalties and the inevitable 'game management' BS to hand DAL some freebies and here we are. This f***ing team just never seems to learn a) you can't let up with f***ing Skinner in net, b) you need to be disciplined because you know the refs are going to manage the game, and c) you often have multiple defensive lapses, so bear the f*** down on the details and keep your head in it, individually and collectively.

Holy f*** this team is going to be the death of everyone.

Every team looks awful and collapses when their guy can't make a save.

Ekholm needs to gut through whatever is bothering him and return ASAP. The PK is ass without him and we can’t hold off a team that will be guaranteed to get 5+ PP a game if he isn’t in the lineup.

If he is too banged up to play now then he will need to get swapped out for someone who can play with less cap, tired of waiting on this return with no set date.
