Good: Lowry, Helly, Vilardi, Fleury and for the most part, Morrissey.
Not so Good: Stanley, Shuffles and sometimes KFC.
Missing pieces: Samberg and Ehlers.
Possible fixes? Shorter shifts for Sheiffle’s line. Sit Stan and put Coghlan in.
Practices. Extra laps for Shuffles and maybe KFC..We expected more.
Disappointed that Arniel praising Stan.
Not a good sign. Ouch.

Next game: Must win.
Why do U say kfc was bad? He was the only jet who backchecked on their first goal. Demelo should have got up faster and tried to get back.

I think we can now see that it was probably Arniel that pushed Stanley into the lineup for the playoffs last season.

The Jets love to say that the NHL is not a league for development, but they sure seem focused on developing Stanley at the NHL level. He's only been in 164 NHL games, so I suppose we should be more patient.

I feel badly for his teammates that have to constantly kill his penalties and try to make up for his mistakes.

Every team that is beating us lately is hard forechecking. We need fast dmen who can retrieve a puck quickly and get it out before the forecheck can hem us in. If you’re fighting in a corner or cross checking guys in the crease, you’ve already lost the battle.

You can basically tell by the schedule if a team will go on a winning or losing streak.
We know about the Jets schedule.
Let’s look at the Leafs schedule … 4 games in 12 nights 3 of the 4 games the team they play plays the night before.
Leafs have the best record in the league in the last 10 games.

Was Arniel here with D. Lowry and Maurice too?

Almost as if they’re tired from flying across the continent every two days….

I think it’s time to change the lines. Put Connor on the Lowry line and Nino on Scheifele’s line. Watching Connor and Scheifele trying to check along the boards is sad … using their sticks when they should be trying to put the guy through the boards. Sure against the lousy team keep them together but against the top teams they need a power forward on each line. Roll all 4 lines evenly and by the 3rd period out them together and they should take over the game.

The top line plays too many minutes and takes stupid long shifts which leads to them gliding and trying lazy stick plays when they are gassed. Which is often these days.

It doesn't seem to matter the coach, Scheifele is going to extend his shifts looking for third/fourth/fifth offensive forays. Not sure what can be done at this point other the maybe limiting their shifts if they keep extending.

This is a miserable thread and many of you are overreacting.. this is not the end of the world..
Every team has its ups and downs and we are lucky to be in the position we are in.
But I agree, stan has to go.

who cares that they are traveling every other day for a month a cross the country and back again while playing hockey at the highest level! they get to sit in comfy seats! seriously you have to be clueless to think that this doesn't have an effect on performance

I am interested to see how Stanley bounces back from this game. I still think the Jets need a goon on defense so Lowry doesn't have to do all the battling for his teammates. And Lowry sure battled harder than anyone this afternoon. I don't know if you need that role in the playoffs as much but to make it through the regular season, Stanley might have to hurt some people. I also said earlier I think Stanley is more of a protected home matchup player, a game like this might make it harder for Arniel to draw him in on the road.

I am not going to go on a Stanley rant, because what I see is that Fleury has been respectable in two difficult road games and on the penalty kill, and that's in an unprotected top 4 role. If he can translate the good things he is doing with Pionk into a 3rd pairing role, both Stanley and Heinola are probably on the outside looking in when Sammy comes back.

The one thing I'll say is that if the PP doesn't score, you have a road trip like this one where the Jets only put up 14 goals in 6 games, and that might catch Chevy's attention, especially with Scheif obviously hurt, that secondary scoring is a need.

I guess the other thing I'll say is I'd sure like to draw Dallas in the playoffs. The way the Jets tuned them and got to Oettinger in Winnipeg, and the way Dallas really struggled to beat this tired Jets team, at the end of a 10 000 km adventure, with two key players out, I think the Jets would beat them in a 7 game series.

WTF ... the schedule doesn't slow down for the Jets.
I did a quick check on the schedules for all the Western Conference teams.
Jets are the only team to play 8 games in the first 2 weeks in December.
The average is 6 games ... 5 to 7 for some teams in the WC.
Also how nice Vegas has 5 days off before they play the Jets next week.
The good news is the last 2 months of the season only 3 games a week for the Jets ... well rested to go deep into the playoffs.:D

3-6 in last 9

It was too good to be true, hopefully the jets still finish 3rd or 4th in the division as they settle to their natural level

5 shots in the first against LA, 6 against LV and 7 tonight against Dallas, not good enough but it’s a process
