That's easier said than done. Once you change directions, you can't go back. The rebuild finished when they decided to go into win now mode. If you want to talk anything about a rebuild, you have to start over from scratch.

I think your understating that expansion draft and Tallons role in it. Every team knew for 2 years Las Vegas and to pull this internal cap crap at that precise moment when the draft is here and this is what panthers planned? It’s disgusting. Yes the team did an incredible thing to find March and he is one of the few players in panthers history that they were stolen for nothing and he was dumped for junk. Smith even in a down year is a good player that we miss sorely. This was an atrocious mistake to get rid of 2 assets like that for under 6 Million and if these owners wanted to dump salary that bad, our GM needed to do whatever it takes to keep those 2 assets and find something else to move to appease those owners. The options were there and Tallon didn’t do that. In my opinion Tallon should be fired and not only for how the expansion went down but also simply because whenever he gets handed some cash to spend he always finds a way to get us a FA bust and ownership knows it. If ownership doesn’t trust him to spend their money on players, why have him as our gm going forward? Hitting on free agents is a huge part of a gms job to build a team. Hasn’t it been clear enough that Tallon sucks at that part? Vrbata sucks, McGinn is small potatoes and sometimes I’m not even sure if he’s playing or not. We have a solid core as few of us have mentioned. We have some exciting young guys coming up next year, I’d like a another gm to come and fill in those gaps we have thru FA or trades who is better at targeting other teams talent and how they’d fit in here than Tallon is and not waste anymore of our cores prime years.
Like March, we also had Grabner, and let him go on waivers for nothing, simply because he was a little out of shape in training camp. Idiocy. Obviously, decision makes in this organization don't know hockey.

That bugged me for years, thanks for the reminder lol.

Since there's very little talk about the article itself, this can continue in the rant thread.
