"No more state taxes, and a winning team! But, you have to live in Dallas :( "

That's your opinion. He is very useful as a 3rd pairing RD who can fill in in a top 4 role if you are in a pinch while adding leadership and experience.

It's sad the disrespect some Internet dorks show this guy.
Is Knoblauch a disrespectful dork? Because every series last year he gave Ceci a chance in the top-four, but had to promptly demote him because he was costing the team?

A bit different no?

Not some anonymous Johnny Couldn't-hack-it with a keyboard shitting on a guy who has proven himself a useful NHLer.

Aside from the fact that I've already stated he is best suited on the 3rd pairing but can fill-in in a pinch. Or why else would you think he gave him a chance in the top 4 EVERY series?

He rejuvenated his career in San Jose. He arrived as a cap dump who seemed destined for Liiga or retirement at the end of his contract and left as a player worth a 1st round pick who will probably get another 8-figure deal once this one ends.

Great trade for both teams. SJ gets a great return on a forward that wasn't ever going to be there long term. And Dallas gets a great scoring forward for a Cup run.

Don't know enough about Ceci anymore to know what he's bringing. But depth on defense is never a bad thing.

Ceci is better than anything they're playing on the third pairing and if he isn't then he's gone after the season anyways.

You know it's a great trade when the only people complaining about it are the fanbases of the teams not involved.

Granlund can't really kill plays defensively but he'll be a great sheltered scorer. His line used to get hemmed in a lot and he had trouble defending in the slot. Only issue offensively is he held the puck too long in SJ, probably waiting for a teammates to get open. So it'll probably work out for him in Dallas with a much better team composition.
