Pretty solid move for Dallas.

Granlund is a good fit.

He's one of the more underrated players in the league that just quietly trucks on year after year.

Solid move for both sides. Nothing wrong with depth for the playoffs and Dallas isn't done yet with moves. Granlund is better than some on here realize.

I'm sure I'll end up hating the Sharks again at some point soon when their rebuild ends, but I don't mind helping eachother out for now.

Fair trade, just hope Dallas can still improve the backend in addition to this move.

That's only out of necessity
I was under the impression Heiskanen was only playing RD this year because their right side is so bad. Obviously he's talented enough to play either side and with Harley and Lindell on the left it makes sense. Lyubushkin is a bottom pair D

We wish he could play on the left side but almost his entire career has been played on the right. They've tried him with righties like Dumba and Colin Miller but of course they ain't good enough to play on the top pairing.

There’s something in Dallas that makes Finnish players thrive. Granlund has been having a good season especially since Elkund was moved to Celebrini’s line.
Granlund sucked with the penguins in a reduced role, does the same happen here?
Granlund was going through a really rough domestic situation while he was in Pittsburgh. His ex-wife was cheating on him with some dude she met over the internet in England.

Already looks like it as some big moves have been made right?
yup with rantanen, miller, m pettersson, the frost+farabee and now this it feels like the trade deadline is already over lol

still guys like Nelson, Laughton, Gourde, Provorov available too, but with how things are going I wouldn't be all too shocked if some of them are picked up soon.

If Dallas had everyone healthy that's arguably the most stacked team in the league. They will be a tough out, could go deep.

good deal for both IMO Dallas window to win is NOW. sucks they lost hieskenan... this is also great for SJ as a position in the top 6 will now likely get gobbled up by one of the talented youth they have a pile of...win win

It's a mad world, where Granlund basically gets as much as, or more than JT Miller. Especially when you factor in that Cody Ceci is effectively negative value in this deal, for any sane individual with eyeballs.

Granlund MUST be in the top 6 and on the PP. If not it will turn out poorly.

Doesn't matter based on how Dallas runs their lines. They don't play anyone over 18 mins or less than 10 mins.

There is no 20 minute or 8 minute forwards on this team.

Not too surprising when you really think about it though is it?

Miller comes with a big contract with term and had basically full say in where he went (that, and the Canucks basically had to move him with everything going on). That return was never going to be great. The options were very limited there for the Canucks

One guy is a standard rental who got a standard rental price. The other is a career long head case that forced his team to trade him. Not sure how you are trying to equate value of two massively different scenarios.

If Granlund had 5 years left I'd agree. Ceci also doesn't have negative value.

Ceci might be the best player in this deal. Granlund lighting it up, sure, but with all the best offensive opportunities he can handle. He's turning 33 this month.

I know Dallas can keep making moves, and maybe Granlund finds chemistry, but the 1st rounder is a prime trade chip.

Honestly, with their current young players and prospects, plus all their upcoming high picks, plus the ripening cap over the next 5 years, Sharks are looking like a lock to win the Cup in, like, 2030.
Way too early to say that lmao, Grier has done a great job but picks and prospects don’t always pan out and once you have a great team assembled they have to actually execute.
