Trade: [DAL/LAL/UTAH] Luka Doncic is a Laker, Anthony Davis is a Maverick and many other pieces

Lakers downgraded for this season, no doubt about it, but from next season and beyond this move really starts paying dividends.

We have reports that LeBron really wanted to play with Luka, so I don't think he'll be too upset this season.

Lakers are going to get the Tyus Jones type of players next season that will be looking for a deal that the money is not out there for imo.

That's not to say that there isn't a path to contention this season - if the Lakers manage to trade for a 3nD guard and a big, they can make some legit noise. Something like Hachimura + Wood + a 2nd rounder to the Bulls for Lonzo and Gabe Vincent + their tradeable 1st for Robert Williams III.

Luka/Lonzo/DFS/LeBron/RWIII
Reaves/Vanderbilt/Knecht/Kleber

That is a legit rotation. Yes, OKC is scary but at the same time we just saw Luka take them down last season - they've obviously leveled up but I think if the Lakers were to pull off those moves (Which all check out CBA wise) they got a shot.

NBA made it happen. They heard LeBron wanted it and they made it happen. f*** that league.

When Luka has been one of the best, if not the best post season players in the league how can trading for Davis be a win now move?

Because now the ball is in Kyrie’s hands more, so you’re making him more effective while getting someone like AD who is a DPOY caliber big that can also average 26 PPG.

That’s really the only justification, it’s a mind numbingly horrible move that I’m surprised got the green light throughout the Mavs without it being stopped at some level in the chain of command. Just insane that I haven’t seen 1 person yet who has said this deal is in the Mavs favour or even - we know how stupid the internet is but everyone’s got the right read on it, that’s how bad it is

If this was 5 years ago I gould buy it but not today

Doncic- Kyrie were lights out last year on their way to the finals

If there’s one player who will play and can play with F U mindset it’s going to be Luka, Dallas is going to regret this forever

This is so badddd. We've seen how great Luka is and still about to hit his prime years. Nico Harrison is the dumbest GM of all time and I am comfortable saying that right now.

Just read this funny paragraph about Harrisons time at Nike

During his work at Nike, he botched a 2013 presentation to Stephen Curry, where according to Harrison he may have called him Seth, and the presentation used was made for Kevin Durant. This, along with not offering Curry a signature shoe, caused the superstar to switch from Nike and sign with Under Armor.

So this is what the Gretzky trade must have felt like or at least close to. One of those "I have no words" trades that you see once in a lifetime
Probably more like the Joe Thornton trade in that it came out of nowhere and was still absurd.

Honestly it has to be some kind of collusion. It's impossible they didn't want any picks or any chance to make the team better. Like I actually expect lawsuits.

Otherwise it is simply the worst trade in all of sports history.

Even a younger and healthier AD doesn’t really make a ton of sense for Dallas. They have Lively and Gafford, I’d love to have those two on my team. I mean, it’s inconceivable (and I DO know what that word means) that AD is the best Dallas could get for Luka.

Good, now trade LeBron and Bronny at the deadline for a young center with potential and I’ll start watching the Lakers again.
