Rumor: Dahlin wants out?

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

If the reports are right that Dahlin wants out(I don’t think they are true), than the Buffalo Sabres are not going get what they want.

Teams are not going pay through the roof, they know Dahlin wants out.

As a Sabres fan, I'm glad he's doing this...he's literally the only person in the world who has the slightest chance of getting the owner's attention. Though if 14 years of failure doesn't make him act, yet another star player demanding a trade probably won't either.

The ownership should just sell the team.

It’s a false report per the player himself an hour or 2 ago…

The return would be enormous - 24 year old signed for the next 7 years, one of the best players in the league.

There will be many many teams trying to make a deal.

Seems like this rumor’s been addressed and this thread could be closed.

Girard, the corpse of Eric Johnson, Manson, some 1st round pick that we probably don't have but I think we do for Dahlin. Sold. Sign me up.

I go to lots of hockey games, and can say right now you have to be at a lot of games to understand how good players actually are. If Dahlin was playing on a top-tier contender in this day such as Vegas he'd likely win a Norris by now likely in 2021 and 2023.

In redrafts he's always being passed up. But if he went to either Carolina, Dallas or Ottawa instead he may be talked similar to a way as to how we talk about Makar, Hughes, etc.

It worked for Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart, Ryan O'Reilly, and so far Dylan Cozens. But this questions speaks for me that Buffalo should just trade their draft picks rather than ruin great and promising careers.

But as for Dahlin, I see him being traded potentially to either Vegas, NYR, Edmonton, or Colorado which I believe should trade for him because he and Makar would be an unstoppable pairing.

One of the best defense men in the league? He's in the top 10 for defenseman but he's not one of the best players in the league.
Also, let's not forget he is the second highest paid defenseman in the league.

A thread with 6 pages because an attention-seeking prick pretends to be in the know.
NHL right now needs clicks, as a collective. And during this crisis I won’t look down on people who have set aside their integrity in order to do so.
