Because in addition to being a quality player that we actually wanted, it made for a nice story.
I’m not even going to fight that, if jiricek was an issue then getting rid of him is a positive. But that doesn’t mean Hunt is going to be some positive addition.

I believe my sentiment at the time was "that's nice, but the relevant bit is..." type stuff. Never once tried to sell those as the sole and exclusive reason why they were worthwhile adds like you did just now with Hunt.
Fundamaental basic common f***ing sense. We're not having to "choose" between Mateychuk and Werenski either. Or Fantilli and Lindstrom. Or KJ and Marchenko. It's a ludicrously false dichotomy.
