Proposal: Dach to Pittsburgh

Soft is Bedard. Butter soft.
No doubt! Are you offering that tidbit to point out that Dach, at his height, weight, age and years of experience and Bedard at his are at the end of the day similar in toughness.

I can’t speak for you but I’ll take Bedard’s skill level combined with his lack of physicality of Dach’s skill -physicality combo.

I'm Not a habs fans and a pens fans
To me a fair trade Dach, MTL 2025 1st round and Mailloux for Malkin and Pens 3rd (conditionnal become a 2nd if Dach play over 60game next year)
With this Montréal gets his NO2 C and get a good guy to guide Demidov and maybe a possibility the pick becomes a 2 round pick around 33 to 37 pick at draft.
Pens gets a Center always injured but with potential as a 2nd C, a young def who needs a new home (no place for him in MTL) Mailloux will be a bottom pair D and as 1st round pick to rebuild
Malkin is not an option. He's retiring a Penguin.

We don’t need anymore picks though, we need a 2nd line center. As the very first poster said unless dach is being moved for a 2c as part of a package, (including 1sts and our 2nds) there’s not really any incentive for us to do this as he is still a center and we’ll need one . Could be a three way trade if need be, but it wouldn’t be us driving that one.

Example we trade for Horvat with dach, isles trade dach to pens for the 2nd.

That's fine, I think that's pretty much the established consensus in this thread. No deal to be made.

Well, no. It's no single deal to be made.

A deal would be contingent on some other trade for a #2C for Montreal. The value itself doesn't seem too far off, and the Pens would be a good fit for Dach.

Dubas prepare slowly his summer. It start by fire his coach.
He need to find a way to trade the top 4 players Letang Karlsson Malkin and Crosby or his rebuild will take a lot of time and with the financial situation of Pens owner they need their fans in the building and to have it they need a competitive team. In trading theses 4 guys the rebuild will take less time and they will lose less money. In business Money talks.
Everyone think Crosby and Malkin will retired as a pens but if they really taking care of this franchise they need and left the pens have assets to rebuild

Player doesn’t want to get traded and has a NMC. They really don’t owe it to the franchise to get traded to help a rebuild. No Montreal will not get their hands on either unless it’s watching one/both play the Habs. Both will retire and then the Penguins will go into a rebuild centered around Gavin McKenna or Landon DuPont.

People talk about players like they don’t have lives and roots settled down after being somewhere for 20+ years

This is like buying stocks at high price and sell when they go down. No. Trading Dach when injured makes no sense and i don't even think Pittsburgh does it especially since they have no 2nd round pick...they traded it to Montreal!

If you don't trade Dach when he's injured, he'll never be traded lol.
