Yeah, unfortunately, Yan Melnikov has already played for Russia U18 in whatever tournaments they play and Ivan Mullerov also is not at the camp. CHLer Kornei Korneyev is still busy with playoffs in Canada, so he will probably miss the tournament. So.... it isn't looking too promising.I read somewhere on this site that Kaz has good 2007/2008. generation, did everyone show up or some of them are "saving" themselves for another NT ?
Yan Melnikov
Melnikov is already listed as RUS/KAZ, while Mullerov is still KAZ only per EP, so maybe there is a chance for him in the future....after his dream of playing for Russia vanishes....Ivan Mullerov
I can assure you, these flags on EP mean very little. That said Russia is banned and they can't play in an official tournaments that would cap-tie to Russian NT, so technically there are no obstacles to them coming back into KZ fold in future which, of course, is unlikely.Melnikov is already listed as RUS/KAZ, while Mullerov is still KAZ only per EP, so maybe there is a chance for him in the future....after his dream of playing for Russia vanishes....
That certainly is.. ambitious.Hoping for a good showing from Ukraine, Kosarev and Haponenko will age out after this year, so would be nice to go out with a gold.
Yeah for sure, go big or go home! I know they have a mostly different team this year than last's silver medal team, no Levshyn will be tough (don't know these goalies they have) but always optimistic, lol. That certainly is.. ambitious.
You seem knowledgeable, it the final roster available somewhere?Yeah for sure, go big or go home! I know they have a mostly different team this year than last's silver medal team, no Levshyn will be tough (don't know these goalies they have) but always optimistic, lol.

I hear what you say, but in Europe it is pretty much unheard of that kid is not allowed to join NT for the sake of playoffs in Junior leagues. Unless it also is player's wish... :/Yeah now that you mention it, a little strange he wasn't included. Maybe he had a conflict with playoffs or something, but either way I'd imagine he'd be on the U18s next year.
Yeah makes sense, I don't know too much about how Jr leagues work in Europe for NT. Fair enough, hopefully just a dumb oversight on Ukraine's management then.I hear what you say, but in Europe it is pretty much unheard of that kid is not allowed to join NT for the sake of playoffs in Junior leagues. I am not sure if clubs are obligated to release players for U18 if they are still in the playoffs. Maybe that's the reason why Mullerov is not on Kazak's roster, since Chaika is still in the MHL playoffs. Back in the day Rendulić wasn't even an option for Croatian U18 since his Assat was competing in the post season. I know that from first hand.I hear what you say, but in Europe it is pretty much unheard of that kid is not allowed to join NT for the sake of playoffs in Junior leagues. You are right, but then again Rendulic was so above his U18 team level, it sort of seems logical, even setting aside how early in spring Croatia U18 was forced to play in relation to the end of hockey season in Europe. Also I want to be wrong about Miller, trust meI am not sure if clubs are obligated to release players for U18 if they are still in the playoffs. I forgot this is Kazakhstan we are talking about.Final team probably will have a ton of 08's on it.
Doesn't matter anymore - I'm now 6 EUR poorer.Anyone aware whether this tournament will be streamed somewhere on youtube?
Ukraine totally dominant with almost 60 SOG, and Hungary scored pretty much from their only clear chance. And you were right about goalkeeping - nobody can really play at the level Levshyn demonstrated last year . Oleksienko did not look confidence inspiring at all when the puck was near him, so he might cost them dearly in next games when opposition will be much more serious.Well, 5-1 Ukraine over Hungary with a bit left in the 3rd. Ukraine has controlled most of the game so to be expected.
