With the Vees joining the WHL next year I wonder if Zach goes to Brampton next year?

With the changes in the NCAA eligibility rules plus the resulting effects in the BCHL, it would make sense that Nyman will be somewhere else.

Not produced in a weak league, small size as we find very few in the NHL among defenders.

NHL is completely out of reach for him. It remains to be seen what professional career he will be able to have.

Penticton won't get to keep him. He'd have to play in the OHL if he's wants to go the CHL route.

The entire Penticton roster is not transferrable to the WHL.

For Nyman, it doesn’t mean he has to leave the BCHL now and go back to Ontario to play in the OHL. He can stay in BC if he wants and continue to play in the BCHL. It could be as simple as moving 45 mins up the hwy to West Kelowna or 1.5 hrs to Vernon.

Why would they do that? Mississauga is not going to give away Nyman. And 19 other OHL teams would step over each other to claim him if they did.

Penticton is not getting any handouts as an expansion team. There will be an expansion draft and they will select one player from each team. The last three times the WHL has expanded, the expansion team had the third overall pick in the WHL Draft, so you can probably expect the Vees to get the same.

I would go as far as saying that there is not a single player on Penticton's current roster who will be there next season.

Goalies? Buenaventura is an overager this year. Ingemann is going to school next season/isn't good enough to be an overage goalie, and Nowek isn't WHL quality.

Defensemen? Five of them are aging out. Lovell is from MA, not WHL territory, cannot play in the WHL. Stevenson? Swift Current draft pick and on their protected list. Stone? Theoretically could, drafted by Portland but no longer on their list. But can the Vees acquire six better defenseman over the summer? Probably.

Forwards? One aging out, three imports who aren't good enough to play in the WHL. A couple guys going to school, a couple of guys not in WHL territory, and McKamey, who will go to Victoria.
