Saw this Finnish defenseman listed as a potential first round pick next year. Can someone tell me more about him?

Puck-moving type of defenseman. Really good skater with about average size. Has above-average, but not great, offensive skills. Not that bad defensively. Probably a mid-round pick if I was to estimate.

I really would liked to see how Salin does in Liiga.

What i'm read HIFK's board in jatkoaika.com
Corey Murphy who's HIFK's assistant coach has put all HIFK dmans on the work
and guys like Kasper Kotkansalo and especially Salin have had good showings on preseason.

The hit was ugly as hell and if that's not immediate suspension on CHL then what is.
This hit which worst scenario is concussion probably cost U20 WJC's on Salin
but lets wait first how long he's out.

Good for him. I thought he was a bit of a mixed bag at the Hlinka, but a very interesting prospect to follow.

Now plays for HIFK in Liiga; third-leading scorer (six assists in 24 games) amongst defensemen for Helsinki.

On a side note, former University of Michigan defenseman Luke Martin, a second round pick who was never signed by the Carolina Hurricanes, is the top scoring defenseman for HIFK. Martin played 40 games in the AHL over three seasons in minor pro hockey (spending most of the time in the ECHL).
