Curious as an outsider since I've seen little from the Blackhawks preseason, but is Allan likely to carve out a big role or is he filling a roster spot until the likes of Kaiser, Levshunov and Korchinski are NHL-ready?
I always thought he’d have a nice career as a #5. Defensively sound physical, not a ton there offensively.

I don’t know when Kaiser will be ready, so they’ll like see how he’s doing until then. It might be Brodie in the press box a bunch, because my god is he terrible.

He was a late first round pick, so they certainly hope he will be able to carve out a "big" (relatively speaking, I think even optimistically he's probably just a Middle 3 guy) role moving forward.

Thru 9 games the kid has been solid defensively and has 3 assists

Of course, our coach doesn't seem to want to give him more TOI for some reason, well our coach is idiot so that is likely reason

Really became forgotten man with Vlasic, Kaiser, Korchinski, Rinzel, Del Mastro and now Levshunov getting more attention than him thru recent years (Despite Allan being late 1st round pick)

Things look very promising for Allan and Hawks at this point

-3

Has been solid in his play but still isn't getting more TOI from our idiot coach

Good news for Nolan is that Hawks did not send him down today with Martinez healthy (Phillips went back to Rockford) which bodes well for him going forward as regular

Vlasic establishing himself last year, Allan this year. Hopefully Korchinski the next year and Levshunov the year after. Can see the Hawks defense starting to take shape with a few other bullets in the chamber as well (Kaiser, Del Mastro, Rinzel).
