Could he be in the AHL next year?

he's not under contract with any team so it's up to where the Habs and him want him to play, either AHL or SHL. I've heard a few SHL teams are interested in him but we'll have to see what the Habs plans are for him.

Ok so he will play in the SHL next season either for Modo or Frolunda depending on if Modo wins their playoff round. If they win and get promoted he will play for Modo, if they lose and stay in Allsvenskan he will play for Frolunda.

Bergevin has previously said the Habs intended to leave him in Sweden for one year (SHL) and then bring him to Montreal. I'm loving this pick in the third round.

Not often a 20 year old defenseman scores a hat trick in one of the top 3 leagues in the world ( even if it is preseason). Ridiculously underrated prospect.

on the Habs board i have been saying he might be our best prospect. I likely would have had him at the top if he had the season he just had but in the SHL instead of Allsvenskan. If he has a good year in the SHL it will be hard not to consider him our best depending of course on who we draft in October.

2018 whole board including me skeptical of romanov because he was almost of an unknown, same thing happened in 2019 with norlinder, gotta start trusting our scouts for dman

Does anyone know his up to date size measurements? Guy looks tiny up there. I see 6’ and 5’10 and 179 pounds on both EP and DB.

Frölunda website has him at 5´11, or 180 cm. But it doesn't matter, he is quite strong and explosive, and he wins a lot of physical duels.

I’d say his size matters quite a bit when it comes to projecting him as a defenseman in the NHL.

Does once inch of height matter though? Not really, he has got good amounts of muscle and that is the important bit. Never understood why people care about a single inch here and there, muscle and explosiveness matter much more than height in hockey generally.

180 pounds is likely in the bottom 10 of NHL dmen weight. Where are you getting that he has a ‘good’ amount of muscle?
