With Murphy graduating next year he'd hopefully get some PP time. If Chabot makes the Sens then he gets to be the man on the team and get top minutes. Should be a scoring bump for him next year

Anyone with any insight on why this deal was made? Saint John is a contender and Green will probably be back in junior again next season.

Chabot is 100% guaranteed to play pro this year. They would have kept him in the AHL this year if they could have.

Some speculation that he requested the trade and from SJ's perspective, he hasn't really played well this year, not very much progression, so they will likely flip the 3 picks for a better player.

Speculation he did, but also unfair to say that without mentioning that his agent publicly stated that he did not ask for a trade and that he is happy where he is.

Either way a bit disappointing to hear that he hasn't played to his standard, I've only caught him a few times and he had pretty good games, so I wasn't overly worried with his progression. I couldn't understand why he would want out of SJ so when his agent made that statement I figured it was just speculation and nothing more. I hope he doesn't get moved at least.

Edit: Just checked above and that's too bad, he could have stayed on a true contender but I guess the rumours were true, wonder what was up but the firing of Young this off season was also very odd, I know Green was Young's "guy" so maybe new management had other ideas for the team.

Certainly seems to be putting up some points in Sherbrooke, 12p in 12gp all assists, anyone have some insight in how he's playing since the trade?

Playing real good. Biggest strength is skating and the way he carries the puck from his own zone, through the neutral zone and all the way into the offensive zone. More than willing to jump up into the play and join the rush. He is always noticable out there, tries some fancy stuff in the offensive zone. Entertaining player to watch. He's also generating a lot of shots and it's only a matter of time before he gets a few goals.

The trade was the right move for him. He was buried in St John's behind Chabot and Zboril, he's the top pairing d-man on Sherbrook and producing like one

Things just didn't work out for him in Saint John. Partly was buried behind others, but he never stepped up and really stood out to deserve more attention.

Skates like the wind, Great in the O-Zone, needs a lot of work in his own zone though. Loses too many battles and turns the puck over too much.

Hopefully he is gaining some confidence from being the guy in Sherbrooke and can have a nice end of the season.

Time will tell. But I think this kid is a hidden gem. He's got a big shot and is mobile. If the Jets can develop him, I think he has the makings of a good player. For a 3rd rd pick this is value.

Anyone know if he is going to play this year? I loved this guy in his draft year.

The original timeline of his injury had him back around February so if that sticks I would expect to seem him play sometime this month.

For RD, I'd say he's the #2 prospect behind Poolman and ahead of Kovacevik.

I’d say #1.

Poolman is ahead as he’s been in the organization longer but Green has a much better chance at rising up to the 2nd pairing in the future. Poolman is gonna likely be the safe bottom pair guy for the future.
