Kamas is the first player of 2008, whom I put on my lists as a potential prospect six years ago. At that time he was still playing for Kladno. Now he defends the colors of the club Plzen.
A beautiful goal from the match of the last season.
Just like Ruml and Kurka, he stands out in the U17 league in terms of scoring, showing statistics, as if he plays in attack, not in defense. 9 points in the last 5 games, 4 three-point games this season.
In yesterday's game he was the best on the ice and made Michigan ("lacrosse") (are there many defensemen in the world who can do this?)

Invited to the U17 Hockey Challenge. For this tournament, the Czechs managed to attract to their team a star-studded defensive line: Kachlir, Byrtus, Kamas, Ruml, Kurka, Vanecek, Reisnecker.

its fantastic, that we are producing so many talented Ds, but it doesnt matter if they are ending like Zbořil, Hájek, Mašín and (i hope not) D. Jiříček

The reality is that Czechia doesn’t have an unusual number of defensemen who bust. They just produce less than the top nations, so they rely more on the individuals and it’s not the numbers game it might be for the best defensemen producing nations.

It’s tough also because obviously they need to hit at a higher rate than countries like Canada, USA, and Russia because they have so many fewer players than these big nations, but I don’t think there’s an unusually high number of busts, to be fair to Czech defensemen. It’s just noticed more because they’re more relied on.

Maybe.. but most of them have been absolute shit in the 2000's. We used to have great modern 2 way D. Not spectacular but they could play both ends. Slegr or Spacek types. Then we just had shut down stay at home D like Smid, Polak or Klesla. Then we just didn't get any in the NHL. The new core is much more 2 way and 'modern' but that's what I said about Hajek, Kral, Galvas and Zboril. Then I said it again about the other Galvas and he didn't even get drafted. Betting on Czech D to make it not fun.lol

I was looking at Hamara's stats recently. Didn't realize he went for an overage season in the OHL. Not a good sign for a third round pick. :help:

He was excellent at last years Juniors for us. But yes, it's not going well. Hope he can help Jiricek and get his ass to the AHL next year.

In the previous game of the series, Kamas scored three points, and today in the decisive game of the series against the favorite Pardubice, he scored two more points.
Plzen in the semifinals!
(Goal from the previous game, assist from today).
... In this series, it was interesting to watch the confrontation between the two strongest Czech defensemen for the 2026 draft: Ruml and Kamas - both showed an amazing action, but Kamas and his team were lucky - we will be watching his success in the games with the next opponent with interest.

On our yearly trip we take together, @Hammettf2b and I had the pleasure of watching this gentleman. We came away sold; the offensive potential is evident, and he could definitely raise his stock by the time his draft rolls around.
