Not a chance. He's pretty far down the depth chart. He was a 3rd pairing defenseman for most of the Texas Stars season, was even scratched or 7th defensemen for some time. If Bichsel doesn't leave for Sweden I think he'd have been pretty much a regular healthy scratch. He clearly has the skill and potential but his allround game isn't where it needs to be to play NHL or even just heavy AHL minutes. At this point he's very much a project. He's currently nr.10 in the Stars defense depth chart...at best. He'll have to work his way up first.
