I think Clarke is better defensively than you are giving him credit for being.
many think BC’s defensive game and knock kneed skating stride are unbecoming of a 1OA candidate .

I never once said he was bad defensively. I said he needs to work on his backwards and lateral agility.
You said he wouldn't often be on the PK.
That doesn't necessarily mean bad defensively. But he is definitely more of an offensive defenseman than a 2-way all around defenseman, especially compared to Powers.
Looks like he will join Väsby in hockeyallsvenskan (Swedish second tier)

Just further confirmation of the above. It's probably a good move for his development, with the CHL being questionable right now.
Especially if discussions about no hitting stay in place.
That sucks. I was looking forward to watching him play against men and on a team with Lavoie. His transfer is cancelled, because he has a contract with Barrie he can't sign a new deal with Väsby. Instead, he had to go on a loan which he can't, since HockeyAllsvenskan only can loan NHL and SHL contracts.
He is more then likely just going to find a different league to be loaned to in Europe. Why can't he instead cancel his OHL contract? It's not like he needs the OHL any further. He might be able to play in the NHL next season, and if not, he could start in the AHL because he wouldn't have been drafted out of the CHL.

Although it's also kind of funny that the deal fell through, since Vasby's management had already pencilled him in as the greatest player in their team's history. Yes, seriously. Vasby's manager said this yesterday:
"Sometimes it is easy to use superlatives when describing new acquisitions. But this time, the title super talent is simply the only correct description one can make of the Canadian acquisition. It is namely the case that Brandt Clarke will probably be the greatest talent in the history of Väsby Hockey who will wear the green and white-red Väsby jersey."
In addition to being unfortunate for him as a player (since he can’t play just yet), it’s also a really bad look for his agent. His transfer is cancelled, because he has a contract with Barrie he can't sign a new deal with Väsby. He really should have been aware of these things before attempting to orchestrate this.
Other CHL’ers already tried and failed to do the same thing long before this was agreed to (Greig, McLennon)..
It is more a problem with the specific Swedish league not allowing loans from any leagues other then the NHL and AHL. Don't think it is an issue on the CHL side. From what I understand anyways. What is different with Kirk, Lambos, Bedard being able to play? Pretty sure they were also under contract in the CHL
