Confirmed with Link: D - Alexander Nikishin signs 2 year ELC

Bet they sell a crap ton of these:

Good choice. Just out of curiosity I was looking up who the most definitive number 21 in Canes history would be, and it's not a well used number. Classic number still largely without any legacy with the team (RIP Nino). Does anyone want to guess (without looking it up) who had the number longest? Canes only, not counting Whalers.

Would that be the elite sniper known as Drayson Bowman?

I do not miss the dark times

Games played? Or tenure?

If tenure it’s probably Bowman as the below remembered, but if games played I’d assume Nino.

This tracks for me. I can’t recall really anyone else wearing it for more than a season or two. When I think of 21 though I always think about Francis wearing it in his first season with the Canes.

I’ll be the asshole that answers the question specifically omitted: Sylvain Cote and Andrew Cassels both wore it for significant time in Hartford.

I remember Bowman scoring 2 goals in his, 4th game ever or something? That was also the time McBain, Boychuk, Dalpe all made the lineup, and they traded for Riley Nash.

I thought way too highly of that crop of prospects, probably because prior to them there was no one.
To be fair that group kicked all kinds of ass in the A as well. It was more than fair to expect better than a couple 4th liners when all was said and done

Legitimately the first guy that came to mind for me

Of course I’m going to disregard and say Andrew Cassells, but he was traded the summer of the transition when the Canes were already called the Canes so I don’t consider it that obnoxious.

He had it the longest during the time I’ve watched.

Question. What is the first year of his ECL. If it’s this year then they can sign him long term after 1 July correct as he will be in the final year of his contract.

This season and correct, and per Walt Ruff he's not going to be eligible to be offer sheeted next summer, so we are likely to have him for a while
