Confirmed with Link: D - Alexander Nikishin signs 2 year ELC

Without one game in the NHL? I mean yes but no. That's a LOT to work out for player and franchise this early. We don't want a Nurse situation.
totally get where you're coming from with that, but IMO it's a gamble worth taking. If he ends up being as good as I expect him to be he'll be worth north of 9 on his third contract. Mind you I honestly think that's what Slavin is worth now and he's giving us a HUGE discount.

Its not about the tweet. It's about the fact that it's precisely in this team's MO to send him to Chicago rather than sit Burns or Ghost or walker. He'll morrow should probably be in over Burns at this point. We should be rolling 7 d and sitting jost who's done nothing. Hell at this point I'd sit svech to play him
Except he'd be going to Chicago if he CAN'T get the Canadian Visa to go with the team. It's not "We could play him but we want to send him to Chicago instead" It's "he LITERALLY CAN'T play with the team in Canada so he'll go to Chicago to play".

It's all well and good to be pissed with how Rod plays the defense but this is not a scenario where Nikishin isn't playing due to Rod's veteran preference.

Based on the unanimous response from hockey fans/media in the 4 nations tournament I'm pretty confident saying that a Slavin UFA contract where he is solely trying to maximize his earnings would get him at least 10-11m/yr. And I'd even pay him that here if it came down to it. Imagine this team's defense, PK, etc. without him. So yeah, totally agree he's giving us a HUGE discount.

Generally speaking, people making point of learning the minutia of the rules usually don't do that with the benefit of the mankind on their mind.
define mankind

maybe we can just smuggle him in? nothing in the NHL rules says he can't play as long as he gets into the country, right?
Smuggle him?

He's Russian. Haven't you heard? Our current President wants us to believe Russia is our best friend. He won't have any trouble getting into the US and staying here; clearly.

Gotta go with the footlong and double corn dog upgrade to the cheerwine float
Big double burger with just bacon and cheese, a corn dog, Cajun fries, and a mint chocolate chip milkshake is my go to.

God dammit. Now I want Cookout

Ah, I see we've been at the same D&D tables in the past.
