Big right-shot defenseman. Could be a name that pops up more and more throughout the season.

8 points in 56 games this season.

I thought I saw his name on the USA Hlinka camp roster, but maybe I'm wrong. I would think he has a chance to make that team.

My scouting report from his USHL season.

Big right-shot defenseman at 6’4 200+ already in his U17 season. He can move the puck well enough to not be a big liability, but he won’t be a big offense guy. Defensively, he’s not bad. I can see him having some success defending in his own zone as a pure shutdown defenseman. The big thing he needs to work on is his skating. It’s not awful, but it’s weak enough that it could be the difference between being a good AHL’er and being a bottom pairing NHL defenseman, if he gets that far. Saying that, he still has a full season to go to improve, so while I think he’s looking like a late pick for 2024 this far out, he could move up or down based on how he does between now and the 2024 draft.

My review of what I've watched from him this season. Has 5+14=19 points in 38 games. Committed to Minnesota Duluth for next season.

I think he’s gotten a little better with eliminating defensive mistakes. He’s better with his positioning, less errors with the puck, and he doesn’t put himself in as many bad spots with his weaker skating. I think he actually moves well enough straight ahead, but side to side he needs to improve. The puck game is okay. I know he has decent point totals this season, but I don’t see any type of point producer in pro hockey. He’s better than he was last season and during the summer at the Hlinka (where he was terrible), but I can’t endorse him being any more than like a fourth round pick because other than size and being okay defensively nothing screams NHL in his game.

6’5.5 215. NHL teams are going to love a defensive defenseman that they can say is 6’6. I think he may go higher than people are thinking.

Not saying he should, but would anyone be that surprised if he’s a first rounder? I would think his floor will be somewhere in the second round.
I would be moderately surprised, but the GMs loved Lamoureux despite him being nowhere near as good as Casey and Hutson. We'll see.
