Hrabal reminds me of Askarov at the WJC - terrible

Obviously the Swedish goal is completely on Hrabal, but he was there when it counted against Canada. He was poor against Slovakia but decent against the US. Mixed bag performance-wise so far during this competition.

Whatever the outcome of today’s game, I am substantially less worried about the future of Czech hockey than I was only a few short years ago. Last time round silver, beat Canada and the US, only lost the final In OT. This year they very nearly beat the US, did beat Canada and are not exactly playing like underdogs against Sweden. Sweden are still favourites today but the gap between the very top teams and the Czech team seems much reduced these days.

I hope this post won’t age badly in the second and third periods .
