Voronkov again.. if I were the Czechs, I'd keep putting the puck near him and letting him draw his penalties. Always an extra shot, always chippy. Call him a name and let him hit you because he will.

Hrubec has been great.

FTR Kovar with Sobotka will never work. They are same size and speed. Very different players but that would be a good combo for a third line and not a Top 6.

I figured out a great analogy (video reviewing going on)... Klok on bench and Jerabek out is the same for my Oil when we put Barrie out and sit Bouch.

Pure elbow to the head.. goodbye Voronkov. FTR.. Czech commentators thought it was a bad call. I don't. He's been the chippiest guy the whole match.
Czech commentators get my applause. They know hockey.

And as I type that .. Spacek! And that 2nd unit looked good (look above).

That match penalty was weird. Penalty - yes, but 5 + 20? Given that it may be the game breaker, very bold decision by the refs. I am Czech but I was expecting normal minor penalty.

Krejci! He's looked ike what I expected today.

2-2.. beauty Cervenka pass and great PP.

PP2 Unit is one I don't like but they did really well last time.. did I mention Klok isn't even on PP2? Having said that. I like that Spacek runs it.

Beauty?

LOL Voronkov does everything right. And you need the dumbest f...s of refs to help you. Praise the age of soft midget hockey. You should be ashamed.
I mentioned him earlier.. he's dirty. Now he's out with a match penalty. Not a coincidence.

Not sure why you blame the refs... you had more PPs up to that point in the game.

With a little help from the refs the czech team sure looks good.
I've repeatedly said how well you guys are playing... look above. I've said you are favs. No need to flame me or the Czech team. You know it's a good team just like I do.

This is simply a mistake that has really affected this match. Voronkov's elbow didn't protrude against Sedlak, he didn't raise his hand, and it's been a clean two minutes.

At the 2-2 goal, however, the Russians had the opportunity to throw the puck out of the zone, but they only got it to the red line and could not even replace it. Stupid goal after their failure.

Dirty? lol not sure you know what that word means. Chippy? Sure, that's part of his identity. Dirty? No. The czech guy is a midget and ran head first into voronkov's ass.

What a horrifying act of violence... No I am joking, hockey is becoming so soft.. NHL has the same problem but IIHF is two steps ahead. What a horrible call, that was hardly a penalty. This coming from Czech fan

I don't think you know what the word midget means. Or ass for that matter.

What was Voronkov (or any player) supposed to do there? How do you fend-off an opponent who is coming at you but leading with his head?
That really puts the hit receiver in a no-win situation.

Russians are 2-0 and have beat 2 very patient and defensive teams while sorting out their lines and not wasting a lot of energy and without injury. I'd say they are doing great and holding their status as Tourney Fav (with Finns).

Any drafted Russian is GOLD... they are producing elite goalies like crazy.

Russia slowly taking over

PP for Russia. They've been better this period.

Penalties result of great Russian skating and pressure.

2-1 Russia. They are rolling right now!

For the angry Russians.. here is what I've been saying about your team in this thread.

It is of course hard to evaluate a hit watching the TV, the on-ice refs see the intensity of it much better. But from my perspective, it was a normal elbowing/charging/whatever. It was not that type of hit when a player runs into his opponent with his elbow first. The movement Voronkov made with his elbow/upper arm towards Sedlák's head was rather minor, as he was basically just turning around and awaiting a collision. As I said, the TV never shows it as good as when You are watching it from the ice level. But it seemed to me as a common minor penalty foul, nothing more. At the same time, the reviewed it on replay. Perhaps the problem is that the reffing standards are changing (too?) rapidly in evaluating such hits. It must be confusing for players themselves.

I've mentioned Klok all tourney.. get him in PP.

Semyonov owned us in the paint there.. nice goal. I'm exepecting an onslaught here.

Pesan might want to call a TO and calm his boys down because I think we'll be very busy in our end.

The NHL offers the choice of a minor, double minor, a major or a major with an ejection.

I will guess that IIHF doesn't offer all of those choices on penalty calls.

The NHL claims to take checks to the head or other head shots seriously. So far, I am not impressed with their calls, so you must be correct about the IIHF being two steps ahead.

I agree... for the record, no where have I said it was a great call. I said Voronkov was chippy in the first and likes to crosscheck and doesn't like Czechs. Later I said he got a match penatly. Both are true.

This hit aside... the head shots have proven to be very bad and have killed a lot of guys young after their careers. So taking this out is very welcome. But the NHL is very hypocritical and lets a lot of headshots go. They have awful reffing.

Gorgeous goal... told you Pesan should've called a timeout.

4-4... I don't like Czech chances at all.
