No news on that. We shall see in the next days how that turns out.Sotnos said:I thought the Czech League was going to try and block Kubina's participation due to his suspension (link). Any more news about this?
Looks like a strong team, in general. Very impressive.

Why the hell would they cut Havlat? Defense looks pretty good.joolzie said:Ok, so my Czech isn't great or anything, but I've been working on it all season while some of my favorite boys have been over there, and some of the things I've been picking up lately have been upsetting me. Please tell me that my Czech sucks and I'm totally wrong here, ok?
Hamrlik is not going to be playing. That much is pretty simple.
Havlat is not on the guarenteed list, and is, in fact, on the cusp of being cut?
Jagr is going to play center, with possibly Sykora and Straka as his wings?
There's some question about whether Vokoun or Hnilicka will be the starting goalie?
As of this moment (and there are still three more prepatory games to be played, blah blah), the lineup looks something like...
Goal:
Hnilicka, Svoboda, Vokoun
Defense:
Fischer, F. Kaberle, T. Kaberle, Kubina, Slegr, Spacek, Zidlicky (Pilar and Hejda likely cut)
Forward:
Cajanek, Dvorak, Hemsky, Jagr, Prospal, Prucha, Rucinsky, Straka, Sykora, Varada, Vasicek, Vrbata, Vyborny (Rucinsky questionable due to injury; Havlat, Hlavac, Kotalik likely cut)
C'mon, I know there are Czechs and Slovaks lurking out there who can help us stupid North Americans out.
He had a pretty craptacular year.cyclops said:Why the hell would they cut Havlat? Defense looks pretty good.

I see.joolzie said:He had a pretty craptacular year.
In 12 games for Znojmo, he was 10+4.
In 12 games for Dynamo, he was 2+0.
In 9 reg season games for Sparta, he was 4+5.
In 5 playoff games for Sparta, he was 0+0, -8.
Havlat has had a VERY bad year and thats why he isnt a lock to make the team.cyclops said:I see.
I dont know if he will make the team. We will see. Really dont know now.OilerMania83 said:Does that mean he can't make the team now? Also, if he can make the team do you think he has a good shot?

You guessed right.Bonde 007 said:Any updates on the Czech roster?
More work for 12# Peter Bondra i guess
I'd still have a difficult time cutting him considering his speed and talent.Anyway,i don't know if the league was high scoring over there this year because his stats did'nt seem so God-awful to me.He started bad but finished o.k. His resume and that talent does'nt get you on the Czech Roster? I'm not sure what to make of that....it could be good and it could be bad.12# Peter Bondra said:Havlat has had a VERY bad year and thats why he isnt a lock to make the team.

Jagr at training today play as a center between Sykora and Straka. Rucinsky is healthy again.
This is how they trained today:

Židlický, Fischer
Šlégr, T. Kaberle
F. Kaberle, Å paček
Pilař
ÚtočnÃci:
Sýkora, Jágr, Straka
Hemský, Prospal, Dvořák
Havlát, Výborný, Čajánek
Průcha, VaÅ¡Ãček, Varaďa

Also, why do you have Ruzicka coach? I think you have better coaches out there.Rogalo said:I dont understand why Bulis and Erat ane not on the team
Also the nomination of Hlaváč does not excite me either...
World cup performance is why he's there. He had to come in for Hlinka and while they started slowly they ended real strong. He's getting another look for sure at this point.12# Peter Bondra said:Also, why do you have Ruzicka coach? I think you have better coaches out there.
