My nightmare scenario.
Finishes as a top 6 (for Sabres) 20 goal scorer and had a great rookie campaign (not calder but that's a nice season)
Gets sent to AHL (which I agree they did that for that purpose) but is Kasper going to Grand Rapids?
I cuss and swear
Rochester gets eliminated
I cheer
Coach Rulik doesn't invite him because he needed to see him in prep camps and he couldn't come
Kulich is sitting on his ass not playing in May when he could've been playing menaingful, pressure minutes and developing for a best on best Olympics

The funny thing is, they have skipped doing this in the past and been roundly criticized particularly by the fans of their minor league team. This year they do it and they help alienate not just one team's fans but alienate a whole nation. They're advancing in their abilities.

There was a big crash and then everything got shitty. I have a normal experience now but it took several weeks to get back to normal for me.

I have always had this theory of too much AHL. Eg. Once you get past 100 or AHL games you are much less likely to become a regular NHL player (forwards only.. d and g can spend several seasons in AHL and still become too d and g).
So blumel is 24 and destroying the AHL. He has been turned into an elite AHL player. Exactly what I feared. Look at the list. None of those guys become NHL legends.lol. All amazing euro players but I think blumel is done.
Too good for AHL and not enough NHL.
I think he could be enough for NHL, but he is in a wrong team, where the space is thin to come through.
I would rather see him go back to europe. This is the worst situation for us, we have a great player, who is nor playing in NHL and nor he plays in NT cause Texas is always in PO

That was insane. Only 19 and won 8 out of his last 11 matches against Top Ten players. Went 7-0 in tiebreaks in Miami. Definitely top 3 first serve in the world (some say the very top - and I mean experts of the game, not Czech fans). Aimed for top 30 as his goal for the season and is already 24th on 1 April. First Czech Master 1000 tournament winner since Berdych in 2005 (!). And he is only 19. Did I mention he was 19?

the best is that we now have 3 men in top 30 again. Been awhile. It was a lot of dead air after Berdych/Stepanek retired. Now we get 3 in top 30 in mens and 3 in top 32 for Ladies. Best it has looked in quite some time! I legit stopped watching mens tennis for years because no Czechs to cheer for.
I do think Mensik is the best of the 3! Let's see if he is the next Raonic or a potential GS winner.

He might be able to get a few NHL seasons in. I actually think it's my Oilers.
They have no prospects and are signing Euro's and NCAA players to fill in holes.
I like that he said 'no farm'. 1 way or nothing. Good for him because so many of our Czechs go to AHL and we never see them again!

Tiny sample size but Klapka was drving my oilers (and their fans) insane. I keep hearing his name. Now he's getting points. 3 points in last 4 games for a guy playing less than 10 a night. I think he's starting to figure it out.
I have a thing for some of these fringe Czechs (Jenik, Blumel, Kral, Galvas) etc. Klapka is one I've always cheered for. Curious if he sticks and gets a 1 way contract next year?
Would love to see him tryout for NT because I do think he's better than Kondelik. Give me the Klapka/Zohorna/Kondelik 4th line! All around 2 metres tall.lol
