Milan Tichy interview from yesterday. Subtitles or transcript not available, could some of you be so kind and do a short summary of what is being said? I'm particularly interested in all CBJ-related stuff.

There isn't much about Columbus. He said he got an offer from Edmonton for a higher position, had a few days to think about it, accepted the offer and was released by Columbus (he had a valid contract). And that's almost all... Then he talked about Jiříček, that his interview in which he objected because of his position in the team was not interpreted correctly, but it was not specific in any way. And that's probably all, Columbus was just the beginning of the conversation..

Vrana with a PTO ... With washington.lol.

Strange times.

Oilers may lose Holloway for free.. a nice 1 x 1 Mill to Zadina makes sense to me! Only to me...

Zadina with Buffalo PTO, Kubalik said he is still waiting for NHL offer, otherwise he is very likely to play in NLA again.

We need those three with Vrana also to stick in the NHL for at least 2-3 years, till the young promising guys finally start spearing in their place lol

From what I understand Kubalik did get offers but none of them were good enough. I'm not sure what exactly he's looking for but if he doesn't get what he wants then he'd rather play in Switzerland.

Zadina to Sabres in PTO looking like fake news.

Almost September and zadina, kubalik and Vrana are not in the NHL. Ouch. 1 PTO plus 2 UFA.

Was hoping one would end up in Edmonton after their offer sheets scenario.

Seems so. Right now there are another rumors that allegedly three clubs are interested in Zadina, so we will see.

And if Kubalík turned down some offers he is an idiot lol, don't know what he expects

It's my assumption that he did get offers. I can't tell for sure but I don't think he's been announced as a PTO somewhere? He'd get a PTO (or league minimum or two way offers) at the very least.

I do know that his return to Ambri is set up and the two sides have been in touch throughout the offseason. Club officials keep on saying that they don't expect Kubalik to return this season but word is that they raised the money necessary to pay him (Ambri, unlike most NL teams, is operating with a small budget) and there's a contract waiting to get signed. Word is that Kubalik is gonna sign that contract in case no NHL offer "meets his expectations".

Again, I don't know what exactly he's looking for but from what I understand he'd rather sign in Ambri if he can't make significantly more money in the NHL. Kubalik's been on multi million deals in the NHL so I don't think you can fault him for not wanting to play for much less than that. By playing for little money he'd also risk getting scratched or even demoted. Kubalik has nothing left to prove. He played some mighty strong NHL seasons. He's also just 29 yo. If he can repeat his strong NL seasons he may actually get better NHL offers down the road.

Galvas is getting drafted this time, he looks bigger and faster on ice and his wrister from blue line is laser, he is going to make NHL at some point and will score a ton of points i have no doubt. I think he is Adam Jiricek level if not better, depends how Jiricek is going to look post injury.

Thought it'd be fun to look at last years goalies and make some guesses.

1. Mrazek should still be around 50 games and a starter!
2. Vanecek should also continue to get about 30 to 40 but his career is a bit in shit right now and Askarov is coming!
3. Dostal should hit 44 or more.. he must be the clear starter now, right?
4. Rittich is in a great spot to get more games... I say 30 to 40. He started in AHL last year and worked up from a 2 way contract. Now he has a 1 way and not a tremendous amount of competition.
5. Vejmelka had a down year but I suspect he will still get around 40 games.
6. Vladar should be near 40 as Calgary is rebuilding and he doesn' thave much competition. Wolf may be the future but he's not going to start 60 games this season.
7. Patera left for the Nucks... they are in trouble. great team but their big goalie Demko is still (and always seemingly) hurt and backup Silovs is also hurt. I'll say Jiri gets in 15 games.

So I don't see any of the 7 taking massive falls. I think many will rise up (Vladar, Patera and Rittich).

On the horizon... Cajan, Suchanek, Dobes, Stezka are getting close and maybe sneak in a game with injuries?

Malek is on the right path but I think he is in Europe this season.

Who'd I miss or overrate?

I feel like Skarek is in trouble but hope I'm wrong. Malik is in trouble too (not sure if he signed with TB but he is in extraliga where he may get full time so I could be way off). Parik seems to be done.

Not sure about Vondras.

I'll guess that 8 Czechs get at least 1 NHL game next season in net. Just not sure who number 8 is. I'll pick Suchanek after the Gibson trade!

The D is a considerably worse outlook.lol

Hronek should play full time and get around 40 to 50 points. New deal, great player.. best Czech D and probably top 40 in NHL.

Rutta is probably closer to 'just a guy' but should get in all 82 games if he stays healthy.

Gudas is going to play all 82 games if healthy and Friedman says he may be the Captain of the Ducks.

Jiricek 'should' be full time and play 82 games. Despite all the messes in Columbus, they do have a deep core and it may be tough to crack. His biggest competition appears to be Jack Johnson and Jake Christiansen for a 6 spot. I want him full time but I don't think Columbus cares.lol

After that.. we may not see another Czech in the NHL next season.

Kral is on a 2 way and I'm hoping he's full time but, again, I don't think the Pens care what I want. He could get injury callups? Maybe make roster out of camp?

Hovorka has a contract. He has some potential but I'm assuming first year is AHL and AHL only.

Most likely next 2 guys are Spacek and Svozil.

Zboril is apparantly signing a PTO.

It's bad.

For fun.. I highlighted guys that could start becoming NHLers in the next 2 to 3 seasons. Time will tell. And I love Hamara and it hurt me to not highlight him (apologies to his lovely mother!).

Man, I start with a positive post about Goalies. Follow it with a depressing post about our D. Meant to mention that Slovaks have an arguably better NHL D core than us now. At least until Jiricek starts looking like Nemec.

Now this!

In a way, good news for Zadina... he wasn't going to see much NHL action from a PTO. Probably 4th line minutes and healthy scratches if he did sign on with a team after his PTO.

He will, I'm guessing, make more money in Switzerland and get top minutes. Hopefully he can regain (or find) confidence, shoot the lights out, become a NT regular and make that best on best Olympic roster and stand out.. then back to NHL.

most likely, 2 years in Davos and then Pardubice. Not much NT time and no NHL return. I hope I'm dead wrong of course.

Zboril - no contract
Hajek - in Extraliga
Zadina - in NLA
Kaut - in Extraliga
Voracek - early retirement
Kase - brain fried
Chytil - brain fried but maybe full time this season
Vrana - PTO
Kubalik - floating around in outer space
Smejkal - back in Europe
Zohorna - back in Europe

That is a lost generation of promsing players.. if they were all full time NHLers then the Czechs are going to the bullshit 4 nation thing this year.

And I haven't even talked about the forwards next season.lol That isn't the most promising either.

And regarding the forwards... we are really hoping and preying for some guys to make NHL and I'm not sure how I like their chances.

Kulich, Pavel, Rychlovsky, Rousek, Blumel, Raska, Hauser, Chmelar, Brabenec, Novak, Mysak and Jenik.

That's 12 guys fighting for NHL spots... I'm guessing not many are in NHL full time this year. Or next year.lol

My dream would be full time for Kulich, Blumel and Jenik.

Kulich is in really difficult position, i think he needs to get a top 6 spot, otherwise his game is wasted. It seems like Sabres management do not know what are they doing, too many young guys playing well in AHL waiting for spot, he and others at sabres farm are overcooked.

It's always tough with rookies. They make the show and get put on 4th line with PK specialists and face punchers. Then they don't produce and are deemed busts.lol

He's in tough in Buffalo. 12 forwards already signed. Rousek is on a 1 way contract and may not even make the squad. Kulich is on a 2 way contract and I think waiver exempt.

I do think he's good enough for NHL and I do think he should make the team but we will see.

I can see him wanting to leave, when he gets to play on third line, scorers want to score.

Zboril, Kaut and Zadina were all 1st round picks...damn
Hajek was damn near first round too. 37... Right around where badinka and Dvorak went. Going for better luck. I think Hajek went before Hronek.

Vrana is another first rounder.

He fell off at sparta injuries got him good sadly
I think their might be a mental healthy type issue too. I'm guessing but something strange happened. Hope he's all sorted.

On a good news note... our EHT tour should be stacked.lol We are starting to have a almost Finnish like home league with good players for a base for World Championships...

Kempny, Hajek, Kundratek are all still effective

Kaut, Zadina, Simon, O. Kase, Cervenka, Sedlak, Zohorna and, most likely, Kubalik are also very good on the NT

Our Euro contingent is definitely stronger than normal years. Also guys I like include Chlapik, Spacek and Tomasek.

Plus a whole slew of young guys just returned and hopefully they get some looks and proper ice time. Eg. Malik, Rysavy, Hujer, Kubicek, Teply, Has, Sapousek, Moravec and Pekar. Hope they get ice time and develop further!
