This is just silly talk.
I was at the game. The boys played well and I thought 5 on 5 was relatively even. You take away those 4 bad penalties and this game is different.
Sure there were some negatives outside of the penalties, but to say they can’t compete with elite team is ridiculous.

Well, special teams is usually what separates good from elite.

Well.. probably especially not when Sweden has the likes of ASP and FUS. No offense but I don’t think there is anyone of that caliber on the Czech team. In summary Sweden had the edge to end the game when the opportunity was given.

I didn’t watch the game. Maybe I’ll find somewhere to watch a comprehensive replay of it tomorrow. I still think judging by the rosters, that there is a gap in talent.

It is dependent on whether I find a way it or
not. I didn’t have the opportunity to watch it due to NYE party and I canceled my Viaplay subscription over their acquisition of the Saudi pro league which they claim they paid for when it’s obvious the Saudi billionaires paid them to air bullshit that no one wants to watch.

Deserved win for Sweden. We had too many penalties, there were also some unlucky rebounds, but with so many penalties against such a strong team we couldn't win. So it will be Canada at the end, so be it..it will be anorher tough game, but I think we have a chance.

But why? We've played great. A 4-2 loss after that many mistakes isn't even that awful. I feel like the loss will strengthen us. Maybe the coaches change a few things too!

I read the arguments above and I agree with Goodman here, our chances against Canada are just like 15-20% and most likely a QF exit.

I am not saying Sweden steamrolled us yesterday and we are playing really great so far and I like this team.

But objectively Canada is better on paper, and I just don't think we can beat them two years in a row in QF especially at home ice this year.

80-85% we will lose and be eliminated, it sucks because I liked the team and it's unlucky to get Canada in QF after being 2nd in the group. Btw i would really believed us against Finland that we can advance through them, but Canada is just the absolutely worst possible opponent for QF.

In the end it's okay, I will watch the game without nerves knowing we can only suprise, and that we had a good WJC where we played nice hockey and scored a lot of goals. You can't just always win medals, sometimes the circumstances goes your way (like last year) sometimes they don't like this year.

And btw I really think that we can have even stronger team on paper next year, so I will look forward to what they can do
