Rychlovsky very loosely translates to 'fast'... very loosely. He's a fourth liner so he literally was shot out of a cannon.

Having said that.. Czechs need to learn from the 1-0 goal against Sweden. Slow it down, calm down.. .keep plugging it up and backing it up. Coach needs to settle them down and get them back to plan A.

I am too lazy to dig up my posts, but if you do you will find out I considered him a candidate for on of the top6 center spots. I am not going to re-evaluate that for now.

Facts are:

Safonov looks better and better with every game. I see no reason whatsoever he would lose his spot.

Larionov sees Khusnutdinov centering the top line for now. Good or bad, it is what it is.

Okay fair enough. Could always slide him on the wing he does have a high IQ I wouldn’t mind that try out

Maybe. But I think this team just lacks talent.

They basically came out in slow motion. And Mukhamadullin's brainfart right in the beginning was telling. Probably thought they can win it in 2nd gear. It is also a sub-concious thing. They will always tell you before the game how there are no weak opponents and how they prepare, but within they are not counting on it to be a tough game to win.

Agreed... Russia is stil the fav to win but at least we get a third period to enjoy!

Great pass by Rychlovsky. He is know in Czech Rep. as a speedy skater ("Rychlovsky" can after all translate into "speedster" or something like that). But I always supposed him to be that fast and gritty winger who is however not very creative. Alas, this pass was a beauty. At the end of such long shift. Hats off. I expect the Russians to come into the 3rd with some terrific pressure.
