Lot of changes in Czech lineup.

I honestly consider Swiss a gold contender, this is a very good team that will be well coached, can skate like hell, has their best 2 goalies and some phenom NHL scorers.

I'm expecting a 2-1 game... most likely for the Swiss. Although, we're not playing Moravcik so we might be able to get to OT.lol

Last two games where pretty high-scoring, both 5-4 for CZE (once after shootout). But both games were late in the tournament, maybe there is a little bit more defence now.

I can't even fathom scoring 5 goals agains this Swiss team... I do think it'll be close though. Definitely a big match for both sides! now that Denmark has beat Sweden our pool is wide open.

I expect a close one too, it's often been the case lately:

2019 5-4 Czech, GWG in the empty net
2018 5-4 SO Czech
2017 3-1 Swiss
2016 5-4 Czech
2015 2-1 Czech SO
2013 2-1 Swiss and 5-2 Swiss
2010 3-2 Swiss

Some pretty good ones, that should be fun.

I'm always looking forward to the matches against Czech Republic and Finland. Fun, vs teams that I like and generally pretty even.

I remember 2013 well... at the time I didn't really consider the Swiss that big a contender and I think that was when they really started establishing themselves at this tourney!

I actually wasn't a big fan of Swiss hockey for a wheel as I called it the Euro Greek team with boring play BUT the last few years, I've loved watching the Swiss. Just a really well done program and joy to watch now.

It's all about the coach really, Krüger was very defensive minded but he quit after the 2010 Olympics. Then it's been very different with Simpson and Fischer.

But to be fair to Krüger, he never had that much individual quality available.

My prediction says this may go to the overtime. Pretty equal teams, the Swiss are above all excellent skaters, the Czechs maybe a bit more skilled stickhandlers. A single detail may decide this game.

Yeah I remember the 2013 game more vividly than some outings from two or tree years ago:huh::D. Should be a fun game. Will be interesting to see if playing back to back will be an advantage or disadvantage for the Czechs.

Hopefully we're a little pissed off and more active than against Russia. Swiss are fresh and super talented.

Agree, have no idea how I'd prefer it either.

The Czechs add 5 skaters who did not play against Russia, apparently an attempt to cope with the back-to-back game issue. I am particularly looking forward to the 3rd line: Stránský - Špaček - Lenc. They were looking very promising in the pre-tournament games. Obviously it is always tricky to take pre-tournament games too seriously, but those 3 guys are very fast and that might be a factor agaist the superbly skating Swiss team.

I feel like Space is in for a few points for us... hoping Vrana and Kubalik keep building momentum. Nice to get Chytil going a bit too.

I'm not sure Fischer is the right guy for a man bun.

The Swiss NHL guys havent played a preperation game yet and a few of them were cancelled due to Covid, so having already played a game could also be an advantage, but things like that are difficult to predict. Czechs could also be tired or it might be a non factor alltogether. We will se soon...

Hrubec with 2 new saves to start.. pretty open looking hockey! You can immediately see how well the Swiss skate!

Smejkal with a nice penalty draw... just a big dude who can skate and move... beauty bottom 6 player.

First unit did okay... second unit didn't even gain possession.. great job from the swiss on the PK

That 4th line causing some troubles...

I'm glad they have Sulak on the 3rd pair.. I think he's better there personally. Treat him like our Tyson Barrie.
