Only if McTavish remains unhealthy I think. I don’t think he’ll be good enough at faceoffs to push McTavish out of that slot for a couple years.I honestly think he is going to challenge Mac for the 2C slot.
Meh…. Faceoffs something you can certainly improve with experience.Only if McTavish remains unhealthy I think. I don’t think he’ll be good enough at faceoffs to push McTavish out of that slot for a couple years.

This is my third game really watching Gaucher.
I think what will make him successful is his elusiveness around the offensive zone. That goal he scored - went completely under the radar and was open back door.
I don’t find him speedy - per se. Maybe quick, agile?
Mct also has to take fewer minors
I won’t argue that, but I’d rather the shooter wasn’t the center. I think we also need to see how Gauthier does playing 1 - >40 games, and 2 - vs actual men.Meh…. Faceoffs something you can certainly improve with experience.
If mctavish continues to be questionable with position and in his own end, and cutter can show he’s mature in that sense I’m not against doing it.
Also not the worst thing to have wingers that are comfortable taking faceoffs
Agreed, was more just willing to wait and see… don’t feel like mctavish should just be given that spot….I won’t argue that, but I’d rather the shooter wasn’t the center. I think we also need to see how Gauthier does playing 1 - >40 games, and 2 - vs actual men.
Maybe it is load, expectations, maybe health. Hope this year is a write off in this regardMac was healthy for most of his rookie season and didn't commit a whole lot of minors
2022-23: 80 games, PIM = 44
2023-24: 58 games, PIM = 82
Maybe Mac is trying to do too much this year on top of his injuries since he's proven he can play a whole season and only incur 44 PIMs.

With one less game played, Cutter has drawn even with Kyle Connor. Now trailing the leader over the last decade Jonny Gaudreau by just one goal.
Same ages?
WC is like playing in a European league/AHL. It’s not remotely NHL speed, skill, goaltending, or brutality. Especially the goaltending. As per # 2, He produced very well in the WC playing against men. I think he has the size and skating ability to be able to translate his game well to the NHL.
The WC last year, not the WJC.WJC is like playing in a European league/AHL. It’s not remotely NHL speed, skill, goaltending, or brutality. Especially the goaltending.
I know what you mean, but I don’t think his game will be here legitimately until the 2025-26 season at the earliest. I won’t complain about being wrong.
Drysdale isn’t great and he’s never been great. Nice kid though. We won the trade that is pretty clear already. Drysdale is great but injury prone and Cutter is exactly what we need
