Cutter Gauthier - Hits 20 goal mark.

I didn't hijack anything. Another duck fan started a Flyers smear topic, again. So I commented on the topic they brought up.

Lol this man said California

Let's see what Gauthier's next contract looks like, because right now he's looking like he could've used the AHL time. He's only hurting his next contract with his current numbers.
Lol this man said AHL time.

I guess Stankoven, Bolduc, Heineman, Tsyplakov, Smith, Kovalenko, and, well, all the other rookies that haven't hit 25 points yet should have gotten AHL time, eh? These grapes are way too sour bud.

They did get AHL time, outside of Tsyplakov who was an experienced 25yo from the KHL.

By your logic they should still be there. This isn’t some difficult concept to grasp. You are the most bias person around here, with one goal (a pathetic one at that) and it’s making you look like you lack knowledge and have no credibility in your argument. Just give up and leave and enjoy Drysdale. Seems like a good kid.

That's not my logic. You're failing to understand the argument. Nothing was handed to any of those players listed above. They either got a few games of AHL first or came over as a seasoned grown professional hockey player.

And most of them save for Stankonen are getting outproduced by a guy who didn't and who's playing on the most offensively barren team in the NHL. Cutter is fine. If you watched more than two of his games this year, you'd know that. Relative to the rest of the team, he's been one of Anaheim's more dangerous forwards after an initial settling period where, admittedly, he was struggling to adapt to the pace and strategy of the NHL game but AHL time wasn't needed for him to get past that and figure things out. Now he just needs to work on his own finishing and the Ducks as a whole need better offensive systems and game prep that they're not getting from an incompetent coach.

I understood your point just fine. I'm addressing the absurdity of what you said with an equally absurd statement because as it pertains to being conditioned to play in the NHL, Cutter didn't need it ultimately. All that's left for what it's "looking like" is his production which is right in the ballpark of the next 3 guys after the main three contenders for the Calder.

He's put together a sneaky good rookie season - he's 2nd on the team with 2.00 5v5 p/60. He's on pace for 18g 43p, with production coming almost exclusively at ES.

Anaheim is probably the last team you'd pick if you were a player looking to post high individual point totals, which makes his season even more impressive. They have extremely balanced scoring.

He's in a 4 way tie for 1st on the team in 5v5 goals at 13, with 3 other guys above 10. Their top 7 scorers are all between 40 and 53 points, and their top 8 guys in terms of ppg are all pacing between 43 and 60 points.

Growing together 🤞

Probably a Calder finalist in some of the past few seasons. Similar situation to Will Smith.

All the Ducks kids got off to slow starts. If they also had a better PP, think he'd be right up there with Calder discussion this year. Doubt he win it but his name would be out there more. But it's too little too late now. Still, am happy he is turning it on now.

He also plays way fewer minutes than the other rookies at the top in scoring.

Hutson 22:39
Celebrini 19:53
Michkov 16:32
Smith 15:42
Stankoven 15:03
Tsyplakov 15:02
Gauthier 14:07

Really nice rookie season. 20 goals despite little PP opportunity (not that it would matter anyway since their PP sucks).

A lot of folks have been (rigthfully) critical of Cronin's handling of the kids, but in retrospect his little stint on the 4th line (to develop "4th line habits" according to Cronin) probably was a good thing ... it kind of brought him up to speed on play away from the puck, and let the offense come more naturally. 21 points in his last 28 games, after 22 in his first 51, and a +9 on a minus team.

This post-4 Nations surge by the kids is promising. McTavish and Carlsson flirting with a point per game, Zegras and Gauthier around 60 point paces. If that can be sustained for a full year next year, the Ducks might flirt with the fringes of the playoffs ... although the young D besides Lacombe also need to progress.

They really weren't that far from being in contention this year. They're 17-13-2 since late January, I think they'll be a legit playoff threat next year.

Flyers fans HOW WE FEELIN?

But seriously he has taken off in a big way. He's got elite, top end speed and an elite shot. Him and Leo are going to be some f***ing dynamic duo for the next decade +
Him and Tippett are redundant for us. Wish we had gotten a better return still, though, based on the hype he had. At least Drysdale looks like he's getting much better now that he has been pretty consistently healthy.

Goaltending probably boosted their record a bit though. But there's certainly signs of improvement.

20 goals has a club?

Yeah, it's a little place where he and Owen Tippett plan to hang out and have slightly above average beers this offseason. It's just like the 30 goal club up the street but without the craft brews. If you want blackjack and hookers you gotta get into the 40 and 50 goal club, respectively.

Yeah I'm sure the Flyers couldn't use Cutter this season. I mean if I guess that's true if tanking is the goal. I swear everytime you post about this kid it's dressed up sour grapes.

Not sure where I read it (this thread or a thread on the ducks board) but didn't he get a bonus for hitting 20 goals?
