Sorry, don't like it. I know most everyone here for some reason hated the Webbed D logo post-Disney but it's by far the best logo in franchise history. I am prepared to go to battle for this opinion

I despise the colors they went with, but that's certainly a take. The webbed D is barely a logo. It looks like something that belonged on the cap of a minor league baseball team 25 years ago.

Not that I haven't heard this same opinion from Ducks fans, it just baffles me every time.

edit:
that's certainly a take

I didn't see your post before I replied

Certainly a take indeed.

What is gorgeous to one can be hideous to another. Still, it's just a mildly stylized letter. At best that's a shoulder patch.

Anyway, congrats to Gauthier. Well deserved.

As a Ducks fan, I disagree but I'll leave it at that.

Now that the thread drift has thoroughly set in, the webbed 'D' is a good shoulder patch, the Disneyesque logo is certainly a classic, but my favorite hockey duck was probably that of the long defunct AHL Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of ... sheesh ... 25 years ago.

Oh, congrats to Cutter...

Too bad it wasn’t against Philly.

I remember when Torts said Duclair “didn’t know how to play” right before he was traded away from Columbus. First game against his old team he had a hat trick, they kept panning to torts after each goal and the look on his face was priceless

He could still have his first career hat trick against Philly at least. I'd settle for a goal though.

Another one tonight..
After that first one, you just knew he was gonna heat up - he looked a lot more confident tonight. I wouldn't be shocked to see him go on a bit of a run here.

He's still only shooting at 5% - that number should be 10-15+ for a guy with his release. I'd still bet on him scoring 20-25 goals this year if he plays all 82 games.

Pro style release, nice goal

Anaheim should be fined $50,000,000 for how ugly those helmets are though

That jersey color did not translate well onto to those buckets
Don’t mind them actually. Way more bothered by the weird shade of green Dallas uses. There’s something vaguely antiseptic about it.

Plenty of sports teams use orange - flyers, browns, Syracuse, bowling green. the only time you see that particular hue of green is on a gum wrapper, bottle of listerine, or dish soap. Just doesn’t look good as part of a sports uniform.

You could tell he was gripping stick too tight after to start the season, once he got the first 1 that took a heavy weight off his shoulders.

I expect him to score pretty frequently now

If I named my kid cutter I’d be afraid he’d find his way into self harm issues due to cruel irony.

Edit: I looked into it more his name is William Cutter. In that case I’d be more afraid for anyone named William.

Link?? As a flyers fan, I’d love to see this. Torts is the absolute worst.

Media trying so hard to create a narrative between him and Torts and Torts just shuts it down. Not sure why Cutter is acting like he didn’t ask for a trade out

Weird thing to say as the person who asked out

Maybe it's not directed at the team so much as the sad middle aged men who made t-shirts and showed up at his college games to whine after the trade.

Don't get me wrong, I understand why Flyers fans don't like the kid. Some just took it ridiculously too personal. When you're in your mid 40s and trying to stuff your greasy gut into a t-shirt you made to display your disdain for a teenager at his college games, it's probably time for some self evaluation.

I wonder what his HF handle is

This is just the last goal, torts is halfway down the hallway before the scoreboard even changes lol

the funniest thing about the whole situation was seeing how fast flyers fans on Twitter/instagram/tiktok went from drooling over Cutter after the world juniors to saying he didn't have any heart and they never wanted him in the first place. flyers org did a great job at painting him the villain when the truth is they mismanaged one of their top prospects. they all say they don't care but are all the top comments on posts talking about him. Pretty sad.

Friedman on today's episode of 32 Thoughts: The Podcast.

"I think he believed he was gonna join the team at the end of the season. And, I think, look, can I say 100% there was a promise made? No, I can't say that. But what I can say is that at least the player believed there was... I dunno, I don't want to speak for Gauthier, whether he felt it was a promise or an indication, whatever the case.

And that year was so bad in Philadelphia that Jones and Briere made a decision that they weren't going to bring him in to the locker room. They said their locker room was a really tough place, and they offered him to go to the American Hockey League and finish that year and then join the Flyers the next year, and it was just never the same after that point."
