You must be a world-class Limbo master, to start the celly for such low-hanging fruit.Having the default search bar option set to date instead of relevance is a supremely underrated change. Thank you.
seems to be working now, i was get the banner before and then a message that it couldnt load content, but working now, weirdSo it's working fine for you then?
I use PIAHmm
I use ExpressVPN. It loads the page but no content. Strange.
admins seem to be completely ignoring the issue even though sponsors shouldn't be getting it.
You missed the joke, mate.seems to be working now, i was get the banner before and then a message that it couldnt load content, but working now, weird
I was getting that in Chrome and Edge until I remembered that I have an ad blocking app (not an extension, an app that blocks addresses via the hosts file) installed and enabled. I opened it, whitelisted "hfboards.com" and the pop-up no longer showed. If you don't have an app like that installed, there are third-party browsers that you can switch to, at least to visit this site. I like Kiwi Browser, myself, because it supports desktop Chrome extensions.
I can assure you that we have people investigating.admins seem to be completely ignoring the issue even though sponsors shouldn't be getting it.
It's been days now... I haven't been visiting because it's too annoying to deal with. Just disable the nag screen for everyone for now if the admins can't figure out what is broken. It suddenly broke Friday night - someone must have done something that broke it. Just revert the changes.I can assure you that we have people investigating.
I also apologize for the issue - it shouldn't be happening.
Just revert the changes.
What would I be whitelisting for HF, exactly? Shouldn’t it be a blacklist, to remove that popup?I was getting that in Chrome and Edge until I remembered that I have an ad blocking app (not an extension, an app that blocks addresses via the hosts file) installed and enabled. I'm not talking about a popup blocker, but an app (like AdAway) that blocks ads across the whole system, not just the browser. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you likely aren't using one and can just ignore me.What would I be whitelisting for HF, exactly? Shouldn’t it be a blacklist, to remove that popup?
just disable your adblocker for HF... you won't get the ads since you're a sponsor. it's literally no-lose for youIt's been days now... I haven't been visiting because it's too annoying to deal with. Oh, so you are doing the same thing, just at the network level. That's probably why you're seeing the popup. This site, I think, isn't receiving any response from the ad servers that the Pi-hole is blocking, so it complains that you're using an ad blocker. That stopped for me when I whitelisted "hfboards.com" in AdAway, which works similarly to Pi-hole, just as an app. To answer your question, it took whitelisting (not blacklisting) the site because I needed to let the ad requests go through to make the site happy. I'm not sure if you can do that on the Pi-hole, but you can try. If you can't make it work, then you'll have to suppress the pop-up in your browser, which might require switching browsers.I’m using PiHole.
I have. I'm also using an ad blocking hosts file in addition to ad blocking DNS.just disable your adblocker for HF... you won't get the ads since you're a sponsor. it's literally no-lose for you
I don't know if you're on mobile, but the 1DM+ browser works wonders here. Never even sniffed an ad, ever.I have. I'm also using an ad blocking hosts file in addition to ad blocking DNS.
It's not just a matter of white listing HFBoards, it's yet another site they're either pulling in scripts from or using to serve ads. Or, you know, they could just disable the popup for anyone that is a sponsor, like it was before last Friday.
I dunno, I'm not having any of these issuesI have. I'm also using an ad blocking hosts file in addition to ad blocking DNS.
