Current state of the Boards

What's the deal with post counts? Are they definitely staying as is? I'm ~2000 down which I'm assuming is everything from March '24.
Same question. Have lost at least 600 posts and know I had them a day or two ago even after this massive server catastrophe. Is that going to revert towards correct numbers or is it all lost now?

Part of the database issues and still being looked at.

I would be *VERY* surprised if there was an attempt to fix post counts and reaction counts. Reason being we already have a "fixed" state of post counts for all posters from prior to the purges in 2014. So if we re-ran a count it would not count all those old deleted posts and most tenured posters would actually lose post counts.

There may be some way to only run a re-count of March 2024 to now (I'm sure there is in fact) but that would have to be done on the back end. Long as we're on XF Cloud I wouldn't tempt fate lol.

Should just reset everyone to zero. :sarcasm:

can you bring back the thrashers board/posts and put it in the archive with coyotes board? please & thank you. :)

I actually meant to reply to this the other day, the Atlanta board was turned into the Jets board and frankly most (all?) of it doesn't exist anymore. In 2013/14 Hf was looking to migrate away from vBulletin and the database was going to take something insane like 3 weeks to import. So the (bad) decision was made to purge a lot of content pre-2013 or so. This was a ridiculously stupid and short sighted decision by the powers that be at the time, but I sort of understand why they did it they just should have archived it somewhere at least.

In any event, the content from the old Thrashers board was on the Jets board until said purges, and it's pretty much all gone now sadly.

The Coyotes board is archived because 1. I'm not deleting my own team's board, 2. I wasn't in charge back then and wouldn't have done it that way. 3. I care a lot more about the community and history aspects of this silly site than prior administrators. Old internet is dying, I want to keep as much of it around as long as I can.

Fixed the wicky wack avatars.
Re-added subforums to list instead of drop down (probably not on mobile yet)
EDIT: Did them on mobile too

Hide avatars option restored (it's in preferences, only hides them in threads not on the page view)

Moved the reply button within the thread from a floating giant red button to a tasteful button in the existing menus like so:

Small nitpick, but is there any chance to get the HFboards link in the blue bar back on mobile.
It was there prior to the downtime earlier this year, and recently came back in a slightly broken but usable state after this most recent downtime.
It's really quite small in the grand scheme of things, but having it back briefly even in its broken state reminded me of how nice of a QoL feature it was. I did not realize how nice having the main site be one click away from anywhere on the website was until it wasn't.
First image is what it looks like now, 2nd is what it could look like now using what it used in the past, and 3rd is what it looked like before.
Gonna quote myself for visibility. It was added for a little while but has since been taken away.

Some of us have maintained a routine of changing their avatars every 1000 posts since they joined and my teeth are itching seeing I'm at 11300~ and knowing I'm actually at 1149~~. But I appreciate it's probably low priority and not imminent. It's good that you're keeping as much stuff as you can though.
