Current hot teams that could end up like the 2007 to 2019 Sharks? e.g. teams with dominant regular season success but unable to win a Cup?

Again, the Jets have finished in the top half of playoff teams twice in twice in the last 6 years. One of those was by a technicality, as they were tied in points with the Blues, and like 3 other teams. They have never won the Central division.

Where is this idea coming from? How are they in any way comparable to the San Jose Sharks, who were division winners 6 times in 9 seasons?

Hell, people keep saying they choked against the Knights two playoffs ago. They were the 2nd Wild Card that year, and got demolished by the eventual cup winners. Are people just imagining a team that doesn't exist, and then get mad when they lose?
Winnipeg also suffered a massive amount of injuries that season, and despite this I actually think the Jets were the Knights second hardest opponent behind the Oilers. Dallas and Florida were imho easier matchups for the Knights than the Oilers and Jets.

Leafs haven't had enough playoff success to be a good comparison to those Sharks teams. Canes are obvious. Oilers in the west. If you don't think they ever get over the hump and win a cup.

I don’t think that’s the point is it? Not a single player is lett from that team.

One of those players is still behind the bench. :sarcasm:

But yes, ancient history and not relevant to the current team. The question isn't about Cup-less franchises entirely, it was about current iterations of teams...for Carolina, that would be 2019-present.

Anyone saying Leafs, Jets, Wild is being incredibly disrespectful to the Sharks. Those teams won divisions and a Presidents Trophy, and also made it to the conference and cup finals.

Boston is the correct answer in the east, Dallas in the west.

They would be the best answer if Colin Campbell hadn't rigged it for them in 2011.
It’s so pathetic when Canucks fans spout this nonsense.

The team with the better 5v5 GF% and xGF% that season won the seven game series between the two, as is usually the case. It wasnt some grand conspiracy.

Have you considered those stats may have been due to the Bruins being allowed to cheat?

Hurricanes are the closest, but without the top end talent up front.

Leafs aren't nearly as good as the Sharks were despite what people in the city, media and organization will sell you. The Leafs are a unique case of futility and they haven't even tried to fix the situation.
