another note here: due to multiple sponsor wraps, NASCAR checks the cars post race instead of pre-race
well now we know why mcdowell has been running so well recentlyL2 Penalty assessed to Front Row Motorsports/34/McDowell as a further fallout from Pocono; Crew Chief Blake Harris suspended 4 races team docked 100 owner/driver points and should the 34 win before Daytona they will be docked 10 playoff points; the 11/18 cars have been released from the R& D Center and both cars go back into the rotation;
this is a similiar penalty assessed to RFK after Atlanta; that team (#6) has since rebounded to 28th
21st in points without the penalties assessed yesterday..... what it is is teams are in more of a panic mode as the next 5 weeks progress, it's not just the 6/34/11/18/42/43 who have been penalized.... all NASCAR has done is level the field as much as they can with this new car....well now we know why mcdowell has been running so well recently
sucks for kurt, this could speed up his retirement by quite a bit, but its good that ty gibbs is getting some cup experience early on. between him and zane smith earlier this year, both showed potential to run well in cupKurt Busch medical update: not cleared as of Wednesday.... Ty Gibbs to do double duty once again, this time with three days notice instead of 3 hours notice
Kurt has also doubled the past few years as the in house CWTS Driver Analyst at the track for FOX (Similiar to Todd Bodine before his run to 800 career starts this year)sucks for kurt, this could speed up his retirement by quite a bit, but its good that ty gibbs is getting some cup experience early on. between him and zane smith earlier this year, both showed great potential to run well in cup.
