CSS Final Rankings

Fredrik Pettersson-Wentzel now 2nd ranked on European Goalies, ahead of Conz. Nice!

clearly CSS scout didnt spend too much time watching Lewiston in the 2nd half

they dropped Carrier at 203th ?? seriously this is a joke, he's been much much better in the 2nd half and they dropped him like 70th spot since the mid term ranking. and no Bissonnette anywhere ? command

btw, Maxime Clermont at 18th for NA goalie ??

I'm surprised they have Pysyk at 7th, given all his injury troubles this season. Usually that affects a players draft stock.

I guess not in this case.

honestly, i would hate to be the GM that has to pick between hall and seguin. you want them both!!!

Agreed. I'm sure it will end up the same way as last year. There was so much more hype around Hall, that the team picking 1st will be persecuted if they don't call his name.

Last year there were rumours Duchene could go to the Isles, and I'm sure they took Tavares atleast partly because he had been pegged as number one in 2009 for 4-5 years already.

Going through the rest of the list...

Hrivik fell from 27 to 194... I have read nothing but good things about his play this season and in the playoffs. Any reason for this fall?

Schemitsch ranked at 123

Some big risers from the 2nd to 3rd round(~30 ranks)...
Patrick McNally
Freddie Hamilton
Brett Bulmer
Greg McKegg
Kevin Sundher
Christian Thomas
Michael Chaput
Max Reinhart
Jared Knight (123 --> 82)
Radko Gudas

Someone called Granberg as a rising darkhorse in the sleeper thread... Good call!!

this makes it easier for EDM to take Seguin...from a PR perspective...

and I think Seguin will be the better player long term...

though Hall might make a splash sooner in the NHL.

I would also like to know.

As has been mentioned, I'm not really sure why Skinner is ranked so low.

Will they be changing their rankings before the draft at all? Just curious because if this was done a month ago there could be a number of players rising or falling between that point and June.

remember that this is just one set of rankings...although a good one, all NHL teams have their own scouts for a reason. They watch players that they think will fit their own programs based on skills, need and character.

mark my word that Kabannov will be pick in the 1st round. I'm sure that detroit would take a chance on him.

Oilers would be wise to take Seguin - better potential and could mesh well with their other future stars, Eberle and Paarjarvi-Svensson. Having said that, Hall and Eberle could be a deadly combo and Gagner would fit between them very well. MPS would work well with Omark and another centre. Oilers do NOT lose either way.

Also, Jeff Skinner should most definitely go in the first round. If he's still available after 15th-18th overall, any GM will jump on that.

The Oilers have a good chance at landing another top 2 pick next year.

Hall-Couturier-Eberle
MPS-Gagner-Hemsky

Or

Gilbert-Whitney
Smid-Larsson

Totally agree...31 points in 27 games for Bissonnette with Lewiston. In the second half of the year.

Here's a stat.

Since December 30th, the Lewiston Maineiacs have scored 106 goals. Even more impressive is that 49 of the goals (46.2%) have come from Michael Chaput, Matthew Bissonnette, Jess Tanguay, and Samuel Carrier.

The stat doesn't include goals scored in the playoffs

Apart from getting injured twice a season (four times in past two seasons), what has made Pulkkinen to fall that low?

In junior A his PPG avegage was probably national record.
Would have scored circa 100 points if fit. Winner scored 62. Record is about 80 (?) Not sure of that. Just a guess.

I do not understand. 17th of european skaters :shakehead Donskoi ahead of him?! There MUST be something else behind this fall.

Compared to other year's CSB actually has some pretty solid (IMO) Final Rankings this year.

The only real big question mark for me is the same question mark with everyone else; Jeff Skinner at #34. Honestly, every OHL fan I have raved to about Skinner agrees with me 100%. He is a dominant player and I really don't see the part of his game that isn't going to translate over to the NHL. Sure he could get a bit faster and like "Brock" stated in another thread he could sure improve his defensive zone play, but then again, who couldn't at this age.
