Man some of these crosschecks to guys faces are out of control... I don't know how to pull the videos and post
them but man..chicklets are bound to be getting swallowed. I love play-off hockey but the sticks to the face
are crazy. I have no dog in these play-offs so I'm not pointing out any team in general just saying HOLY ****

It seems the rules don't really matter once the playoffs start. Hit on Barkov was called a major and rightfully so, but a crosscheck to Caufields or Gallaghers face no call at all. I get you cannot call everything or it would be en endless parade to the box but this crazy dangerous stuff has to be called.

Chris Pronger was the king of the cross check, but he hit with integrity. These players don’t grow up with cross checks, nor do they know how to be aware or defend themselves, so this what you get.

Rather than fixing it by teaching them in midget and junior, the solution will be full face masks.

cross checks to the face are supposed to be called, and should be called. You can give guys a more leeway in the playoffs, but that's one that should be called.
Totally agree , letting all these cross-checks to the face go is taking it a little bit too far , I don't mind trips or even hooking being uncalled in tight games with high pace , or even battles in front of the net being uncalled but the crosschecking to the chicklets is pretty egregious

Yes, the one on Gallagher had me grabbing my mouth... I don't even like the guy but I thought that was pretty bad and was seen...

Hit with integrity?

Pronger loved the chicken wing

Bro, you guys literally cross-checked your way to the finals that year vs Tampa lol

Habs are too little. What would be a crosscheck to the chest (still illegal but much nicer) ends up being a shot to the choppers. Not really fair to the Caps.

Yep that's right, they should be taller like big bad Tommy Wilson and get crossed checked in the chest instead and just flop to the ice like they got hit by a truck

At least you know that'll get called

I thought cross checks stopped after Scott Mayfield tried to split Kucherov in half a few years ago.

Not just the Gally crosscheck to the face but the Caufield one is even worse. Unfortunately as I stated the subjective calls, non calls, game management has ruined the game. They did not even give a fine or suspension when Caufield took cross check to the face only because that would mean the league admits the reffing is putrid. They rather just sweep things like the under the rug to ever admit wrong.

Does not matter the team you cheer for, the NHL really needs to do something. Perhaps reviews on plays like this. I don't care if it slows the game down. Get it right.

The Gallagher one from game 1 .. he makes it a point go in and lightly crosscheck AA to agitate a situation where he can flop .. then Gallagher slashes AA arm ... then AA crosscheck him.

Gallagher should not get rewarded for trying to draw a penalty after the whistle, im sorry but he earned his rep and now has to live with it. If AA went for crosscheck, Gallagher should have offset for slashing

Habs need to focus on hockey and not straw man excuses

Caps were the better team both games

Accept it

Play better game 3

I get that you are a Habs hater/Leafs fan so you will never agree but The Habs did not cross check their way to the finals. Playing rough is different than crosschecking guys in the face. Especially the one on CC. I mean that one is suspension worthy and not even a minor for it.

People (read mostly FLA fans) are all up in arms over the Hagel hit on Barkov and demanding multiple game suspensions...

The blatant cross checking, slashing, and hit from behind are more glaring to me thus far in these playoffs...Don't get me wrong - I luv me some tough physical playoff hockey, but I'm just waiting to see a serious injury from these infractions that are taking place.

You guys were laughing at us and mocking us when Edmundson cross checked Simmonds full power in the face, while he was already being cross checked by another Hab from the other side.

Not even a penalty was called

That's literally 2 cross checks to his face on the same play, not even a 2 minute penalty was called on either guy.

Shea Weber also cross checked him in the face without being suspended. Chiarot had a bunch of those that went uncalled as well.

So let's relax with this stuff a little.

How many of those led to a suspension ? Spoiler, the answer is zero.
