Pens are going nowhere and don't look to get better soon.

Last night showed Crosby still has a lot left in the tank and still an elite player.

He should request a trade to play meaningful hockey somewhere.

Being a one club man is so overrated. It's not like being traded will unwin those cups.

He also helps his team by giving them a haul. Pens fans also get to cheer him on and hope he wins another cup.

It's a win-win-win.

Crosby has been adamant that he wants to be a one team guy just like his idol Yzerman. He's not going anywhere. He has said this every time he has been asked including this season.

Even if the Penguins wanted to move him to get assets (which they wouldn't get enough to warrant moving him), he'd say no because he simply does not want to leave.

Ignoring all of the sentimental value and the business/dollar value he brings to the fans and the organization.

Would it be a haul?

He’d have full control and select one destination. That destination would be contending and have weak futures/not want to give up current pieces of the roster. Despite the difference in caliber of players I’m not sure how different it would be than the Giroux trade. Maybe you get an extra pick but it’s not going to be an all time haul IMO.

Yea, it's an absolute war crime that in order for him to be a one team man, his final years will be wasted on a Dipshit Dubas rebuild.

Sid, this ain't the team you played the first 15ish years of your career on. They're a pathetic joke now. GTFO, they don't deserve you

Giroux was a pending UFA, Sid isn't!

People don’t factor in the personal element. He has a girlfriend. You think Sid or his gf want to move to a new city? They have friends and family in Pittsburgh. If I’m Sid I’m never moving. I’ve set roots down. Also his gf would get a major say.

If the team is tanking and he'll be a rental, you would say that he'll refuse to get traded by his team for a chance at the cup and for his team to earn the assets?

You could well be correct, but shrug.

They at least still had Mario and enough young players with hope for the future.

What do they have now? $16m on Jarry & Karlsson, and an all time bad GM

No they didn't. Lemieux retired after like 30 games and the team was an absolute tire fire. Ziggy Palfy quit on the team halfway through the year because of how bad it was, pretty much all of the big name UFAs they signed (Gonchar, Recchi and LeClair) were terrible and the young guys were pretty much just Crosby, Fleury, Whitney, Orpik and Armstrong.

The Penguins got wildly lucky that they were able to get Malkin over the next year (they literally had to smuggle him out of Russia to get him to be able to sign) and got Staal in the 2006 draft.

Just like Lemieux said no to being traded back in like 2003 (rumors linked him to Colorado to win another cup with that team), Crosby would say no to being traded now.

Imagine how much Crosby is laughing his ass off at the constant talks of him being traded. He has lost the game, no matter how many times he says he will not leave Pittsburgh, people will continue to ignore it.
