I wish you were joking but somehow I think you are serious.Peter said:I hope he gets stronger because he is so easily bumped off the puck.

As for Crosby vs Ovechkin... Ovy is almost 2 full years older than Crosby as well, and Crosby at 17 is incredibly far ahead of Ovechkin at 17.
Peter said:As far as I am concerned Ovechikin skated circles around Crosby talent wise. I was not impressed by Crosby at all...in fact I have the fear of Alex. Daigle in my heart when I watched Crosby here at the WJC. I hope he gets stronger because he is so easily bumped off the puck. The NHL is a long ways from the "Q"...I wouldn't crown him the next coming of Gretzky quite yet.
Ovechikin, on the other hand, looks ready now. As does Malkin. And Carter. And Richards. And Pheneuf. But not Crosby.

Ask yourself this question.
What did Ovechkin do 2 (maybe 1) years ago in the WJC?

I think you need to hold off on that prognostication. Ovechkin played solid as a 17 year old in the WJC's, and played decently in other tourneys that year. While not having played in the Q where Crosby doesn't have to deal with the physical game, or even the defensive side of the game if he doesn't want to, Ovechkin still showed a lot.
Get over it. They're both solid prospects who have a long way to go before they earn back some of the hype they've been getting. Hopefully for the NHL's sake, they both turn out to be good players.
But to say that Crosby is clearly better than Ovechkin, or the other way around is ignorant.

Ovechkin made records as a 16 and 17 year old guy at the 18wjc for the most goals ever scored at the event. 14 goals that´s history...
dawgbone said:And what was Crosby doing at 16 and 17?
Scoring 8 goals in the Under 20 tournament.
Crosby never even played in the U-18's... so how about we compare what they do in the same tournament at respective ages?
I think Canada has a rule that says if you've played for the U20 team, you can't compete for the U18 team. So Crosby never had any chance to break records at 16.THE NEXT ONE #87 said:I´m sorry but Crosby isn´t better than Ovechkin at the same age. Ovechkin dominated as a 16 year old the whole tourney, he breaked the goal scoring record from Kovalchuk...
By the way is there a chance that crosby will play at this years u18-wjc??
Not quite. But you can keep telling yourself that.B). The Q sked is almost twice as long
