I recently came into contact with these two images, circa 2004, of a draft eligible Sidney Crosby participating in the Kings Development Camp:

I'm curious if there is any historical articles reporting on it - and more then anything, the legality of open tryouts regarding draft eligible players, especially with the context of this likely being during the '04 lockout.
