Team New York (Upstate, city, and LI)

Nick Foligno - Trevor Zegras - Kyle Palmieri
Marcus Foligno - Shane Pinto - Patrick Kane
Joel Farabee - Alex Iafallo - Matthew Coronato
Miles Wood - Jack Drury - Alex Tuch

Thomas Harley - Charlie McAvoy

Jimmy Howard
Keith Kinkaid

So um, maybe they win a couple of games?
We're better at lacrosse.

Team Nevada:

………..

Oh wait Gage Quinney played 3 games in 2020! We have a team!

Nobody else born in Nevada has ever played in the NHL.
This is technically true but Jason Zucker and his family moved to Las Vegas when he was 2 months old. He was playing LV youth hockey before he moved to be a part of the USNTDP and would travel to join out of state teams for higher level competition. He is California born but Nevada raised.

I'll try Florida too since I live here now.

Brandon Duhaime - Jack Hughes - Garnet Hathaway
Nobody - Nobody - Nobody
Nobody - Nobody - Nobody
Nobody - Nobody - Nobody

Quinn Hughes - Jakob Chychrun
Jaycob Megna - Seamus Casey
Shayne Gostisbehere - Andrew Peeke

Nobody
Nobody
(Not even the ghost of anybody; no goaltender born in Florida has ever played a single NHL game)
I feel like you are missing a Hughes brother.

You are in fact not. Wasn’t born there

Literally nobody in goal

Gotta say that could make for a fine 3-on-3 team if Krupp could strap on the pads

Random trivia: Chris Chelios finished out his high school years in San Diego.

Some more random trivia.

Long time AHL Coach and Cup of coffee Oiler Forward Roy Sommer, went to HS with Tom Hanks in Oakland, CA.

Ohio does not produce left wings or defense, apparently. Also Connor Murphy was apparently born in Massachusetts so even though he grew up here, he doesn't count.

xx - JT Miller - Jack Roslovic
xx - Cole Sillinger - Kiefer Sherwood
xx - Sean Kuraly - xx
xx - Jansen Harkins - xx

This born garbage is pointless. Should be where you grew up and played your youth hockey from say 2-9 grade.

John Carlson born in Natick, Ma but raised in NJ. Not a Massachusetts HOCKEY PLAYER

Man New Brunswick is really weak. It looks like the towns that make up one 10 town High School League in Massachusetts (Middlesex League) have produced more current players than from New Brunswick right now. The population of those towns is about 400k.

Marc Gatcomb - Woburn
Riley Duran - Woburn
Will Smith - Lexington
Conor Sheary - Melrose
Sam Colangelo - Stoneham

Active is impossible, there are only 6 active players from Pennsylvania. All time, using only the most recently retired for each position, we get:

Brandon Saad (A)-Logan Cooley (A)-Riley Barber
Ryan Malone-Vincent Trocheck (A)-Steven Fogarty
Sam Lafferty (A)-RJ Umberger-Brian O'Neill
Eric Tangradi-Henrik Samuelsson-George Parros
Bill Thomas

Mattias Samuelsson (A)-Matt Bartkowski
Stephen Johns-Erik Burgdoerfer
Nate Guenin-Mike Weber
Dylan Reese

John Gibson (A)
Mike Richter

Taking all time and ignoring recency, I could add Bob Beers on D, and Jay Caufield, Gerry O'Flaherty, and Pete Babando up front, for people who played 200+ NHL games.

It pains me to see how far Quebec has fallen in producing quality hockey players. If you were to make an all-time team, there is not a single active player that would make the team. I don't live there anymore, so I can't really offer an opinion why. Anyone want to throw out some opinions why they can't seem to produce hockey players anymore?

They have the numbers, just cannot produce high end guys. I cannot understand it. Must be a cultural shift. But I seem to remember that this started in the 90s. Because people started to notice it and decrying the issue back then.
