I watch the games muted, problem solved. Homer Simpson is a complete tool. It blows my mind that in Canada, we can't get the ESPN feed here. But we need 9 channels showing the Sportsnet feed.

sometimes in my theater room I watch with the center channel turned down/off.

Amazon prime does streaming way better than the mickey mouse job SN plus does. Half the time it logs out the user while the other half it gives errors and other BS. Plus I rather hear Messier talk than Luke Gazdik who thinks Skinner is the best goalie in the NHL

the Sportsnet bias is insufferable, should have left them behind with the Leafs, they should have used the Oilers crew, at the very least Louie DeBrusk and Jack Michaels have a modicum of appreciation and professionalism to call a fair game for other teams beside their own

The bias is garbage on sportsnet. Reinhart scores with 20 seconds left and you could feel the disappointment. Like bro c'mon....that was a HUGE moment there show some excitement

Then Drai scores in OT & it was a completely different vibe.

Friedman lost me when he admitted he's a Leafs fan, as a means if justifying SN's obsession with the Leafs I guess.

It wasn't even a matter of "I grew up a Leafs fan so it is harder for me to overcome my bias.."

It was more along the lines of "Yeah, I am from the Toronto area so of course I grew up a Leafs fan and I'm going to be a fan of them while working on this national broadcast..."

I might be one of very few guys that liked Doc Emerick but man I really miss the NBC feed as an alternate for broadcasts. Simpson drives me insane. Hughson was just as bad, glad he hung up the mic. I was never watching the finals on sportsnet back in the nbc cup final days.

I'll watch any of the Canadian broadcasts over ESPN (the worst-crap broadcast and panel) and TNT (good panel/crap broadcasters). Michaels and Debrusk are a great team and I'd prefer them but that's not happening for the SC finals.

I agree that Simpson ain't much, but hearing "edzo" say "boosh" 100 times per broadcast makes me want to go on a tower with a high caliber rifle

As an American viewer, oh my God yes.

Also, Olczyk doesn't so much "analyze" as he does make benign comments mid-play like "great pass" and second guess everything that doesn't end up resulting in a goal.

Craig Simpson always has been a stale analyst, but his stale-ness has become far too rotten now. Jim Hughson carried him for years (and Hughson wasn't my favourite PBP guy ever. Liked him better as the Canucks PBP as opposed to national)

Cuthbert, who I've actually liked for a long time, has become a shill Canadian-biased homer and can't call games like he used to

Can we remember CBC's last EPIC and momentous game calls during the Stanley Cup finals? Maybe my memory is short... Or I've been brain-rotted by endless gambling advertisements

I'd expect the intermission panel to have some dignity and talk about positives and negatives for both teams and don't think the broadcast should be shilling local products. Simple as that.

Like I said 40 times now, it's a National broadcast, not a regional one.
