That’s exactly it. Go watch any highlights from 2004, 2006, 2007, 2011, 2021, or last year, and you’ll see the same homerism towards the Canadian teams that we’re getting this year.

2011 in particular was extremely bad for it because Jim Hughson, once the local Canucks announcer, was doing the games nationally for CBC.

The entire Sportsnet panel is as biased as it gets. They don't even try to hide it. The worst is Simpson but also Hrudey and Gadzic. I can see why Gazic has a love fest for the Oilers seeing how he played for them and he sucked so bad that he couldn't even crack their lineup as a regular. He's probably jealous and wishes he was actually good as a NHL player.

He still played more games than you ever did.

Sportsnet claims to be a National broadcast but they were pumping the Oilers the entire Stars series, even shilling their 50/50 giveaway during breaks. Embarrassing. Furthest thing I had ever seen from a National broadcast that was a regional broadcast.

I hate SN when it comes to hockey cause I hate the Leafs and ergo, I disdain anyone part of that machine.

Plus, they committed the ultimate sin: they included the CBC. The CBC should not exist and Ron MacLean should not have a job- and The Pelican should not be on my damn TV!

Naw, it has more to do with his complete lack of professionalism during games. I've said it already in this thread, I fully expect the broadcasters to pull for the home team. Simpson, however, gets totally carried away with the officiating to the point that he's talking over Chris and taking away from the game.

Why does that matter? If I'm watching Sportsnet, I want the guys to root for the Canadian team, to be fanboys of them. Impartial sports networks are boring as hell.

Amazon prime does streaming way better than the mickey mouse job SN plus does. Half the time it logs out the user while the other half it gives errors and other BS. Plus I rather hear Messier talk than Luke Gazdik who thinks Skinner is the best goalie in the NHL
