Would Tyler Motte be of interest? He is in his final year of a $1.25 deal. He has a motor that never stops, he is a relentless penalty killer and can slide up and down the line-up, but don't expect top 6 offensive production. He was injured to start the season but has been a solid contributor since he came back. Is a UFA at the end of the season

Nah, Rangers need size skill and players good along the boards at RW and Center, top 9 forward. Motte does not do much for NYR. Okay player but does not fit a need.

I dont know why people want to shit on McKegg. If you want top line talent, you need to make the money up somewhere. McKegg is no star but you can count on him to play decent defensively, he doesn't make a ton, and you can sleep at night if you bench him because he's just happy to be getting the NHL check instead of the AHL one. There's a reason why coaches like guys like this when fan's don't. It's not like theres a 3/4 defensive winger in the system he's blocking right now. That's not really Barron's game. It's like having your point guard go down with an injury and calling up a center. He may be a better player but if he doesn't fit the role, it's not going to work.
