I'm gonna scroll through this but can anyone that is a coyotes fan please give me their opinion I don't care about the shoulda moved the team etc posts.

(Sorry you aren't saying anything that hasn't been said in any coyotes thread since they last made the playoffs)

Ala is the location decent in your opinions? Not screwed by being too far or traffic making it impossible to go to weekday games and such

It's fine, if the location I'm hearing is factual.

Less than 10 miles east of Tempe Entertainment District plans. The 101/202 section of the freeway gets pretty bad sometimes, but once you get going east on the 202 it's smooth sailing. A ton of infrastructure already for sports as a major league facility is in the area.

Beneficial for me, since I live in East Mesa. The rumored site is about 17 minutes from my front door.

Mesa?! Oh come on not this again.
It’s never going to work in Arizona if it’s not in Scottsdale.

Yeah, the only way the Yotes will have success is property in Scottsdale, but that's not going to happen when you have an organization with a C.A.O. ("Cheap Ass Owner").

But why not Wikieup? The advantages are clear:

1. Plenty of land available at a deep discount.

2. Can draw from all of Wickenburg, Lake Havasu and Kingman areas.

3. New Interstate 11 will make this a booming hotspot community.

4. Team aircraft can land on highway for easy player access.

5. Every player can have their own ranch, with burros.

6. Surprisingly urbane with a local Southwest flavor - convenience store sells both corndogs and tamales.

7. Virgin market for professional player advertising endorsements.

No. Till the owners want them gone let's keep them around.

Them existing is healthy for the rest of the league circumventing the cap that is def stopping your team from winning if it didn't exist.
They're bad for the league in every respect. Not sure what the rest means, but I'm sure it's something super smart and witty.

How are they bad . It makes it so the good teams can get better. Also having them around raises the cap doesn't it ? You need teams running below the cap max / average or the average would be lowered no ?

I believe the cap is calculated assuming that every team won't spend to the cap maximum

Let it die was a very informative post tho 👌

Mesa’s population is larger than Raleigh or Tampa and slightly less than Nashville but those three have arenas downtown in the middle of everything. The median income in Mesa is on par with Tampa and Raleigh but far below Nashville. In terms of market size and median income it compares favorably to some of the other smaller, non-traditional markets but I know nothing about Mesa… would this arena also be in the middle of the city or is this a spread out suburb?

And remind me again why they can’t use the Phoenix Suns arena? Would leasing space be cost prohibitive?

Accounting 101: Revenue does not equal profit.

Yes they "made" more ticket revenue at Mullet, at the cost of catastrophic losses in just about every other category. In fact in January the CEO of the team already announced they were on track for another $10,000,000+ loss.

Jesus
along with the eating of salaries they are doing for other teams

just a casual 8 figure loss from operations

Maybe you should read up on it more. The last part is kind of ironic given your poor grasp and poorer attempt at explaining the the league wide cap situation and how the Yotes somehow play a role in raising it in the same post, but ok lol.

That said, I am sorry my post upset you, I'll try and be more considerate of the sensitivity of others in the future.

Lmao explain it to me more actually @mouser does arizona have any benefit to the league ?

I don't care about being upset I just don't like people saying crap about other people's franchises. I do love learning so if you can correct me please do

You were the one explaining it to me champ. Thank you for realizing you were out of your depth and tagging in an older boy who is actually informative (something I know is dear to you) instead of whatever you were trying to do. I promise I won't say "let it die" again, that was inconsiderate of me.

The only thing? Id say the bunch of idiots is another major reason. Not paying taxes or rent getting kicked out is majornreason why residents had no faith and voted against them getting new arena. Not to mention not even bothering to soend on campaign. And cheap ownership trying to pay less than salary floor by getting insurance covered injury guys.
Revenue makes a lot of problems go away.

Man, the best thing for the Yotes is if Bill Foley buys the team. He would get them in playoffs in three, Stanley Cup in nine. He needs to sell his vineyards and buy the Yotes! (never gonna happen lol)

And yet we've somehow still won more playoff rounds than the Leafs have in the last 20 years.
We suck but make enough money so that the bottom feeders (statistically and financially) may live on life support long past their due. What difference does it make if you're in Edmonton, you can still follow wherever they go or pick a new team that makes you unique among the Oiler fans.

I don't think this site ever shows a greater display of ignorance than when Coyotes threads come up and people en masse act like they have zero understanding of why the NHL wants to invest in a top 10 most populated MSA centered by a top 5 most populated city in the US

....Perhaps because they've already invested in keeping the Coyotes in Arizona for the better part of thirty years, and to date it hasn't yielded much more than a series of misfires and bad managerial decisions, compounded by steady financial losses?

That might have something to do with it. :dunno:

That said, I'm still convinced there's no plans to give up just yet, even in the face of all this failure........this crazy train is gonna keep rolling on.
