It will never happen unfortunately, the league is staring at the MLB, NFL kind of piles of money if they can crack the American market, and they will never do that by having Canadian teams winning past the second round. The Canadiens were a huge exception a couple of years ago and obviously an error they can't let happen again.

Prior to this season when Engvall got suspended for 1 game because his stick slashed Sean Durzi in the head, every other Leafs suspension under George Parros was for multiple games, and each one was their first time being suspended in the NHL.

Zach Hyman 2 games, Alex Kerfoot 2 games, Jason Spezza 6 games which Gary Bettman reduced to 4 games, and Auston Matthews 2 games.

Yeah it's ridiculous. A lot of fans like us have been voicing our frustration over this for a while now, lmao I was trying to explain this to Tampa fans just the other day. They think small market teams aren't getting favored and it's just a part of our imagination even though the evidence is clear as day.
