Was once reprimanded by someone about how Jerry Jones doesn't meddle as much anymore, or that it's Stephen.

Believe me when I tell you that anything that Dallas does goes through Jerry Jones. He has a hand in all personnel and FO and football decisions.

Schottenheimer's father was a very great man. His son may as well be a good man too. But at the end of the day, he is a stooge for Jerry who will do his bidding on the field.

They were never going to get any high profile coaching free agent with this structure.

definitely seems like a somewhat underwhelming hire. But the top candidates aren’t taking the Jerry job and he isn’t paying them.
Yep. Jerry is cheap. It means he's not in the market for top coaches.

This is a truly underwhelming hire. It's going to be followed by another off-season of inaction.

It's also that Jerry is the owner, president, and GM of the team and that power doesn't sit well with most coaches who want their own people in

Nah. Jerry could easily hire anyone he wants if he was willing to use the vast resources of his $10 billion monster.

These coaches are competitive. If Jerry told one of these top candidates he was going to make them the highest paid coach in football, they wouldn't care about the power stuff the same.

There is no salary cap for the coaching staff. Jerry could have the best staff, but he chooses not to. He doesn't value coaching.
