NFL: Cowboys and head coach Mike McCarthy part ways

I wonder who the next castrated yes man puppet coach will be. No real HC with an ounce of dignity will ever accept to work for a senile egomaniac like Jerry Jones.

He's not going to say otherwise until he has a job offer.

That, to me, is a clear message of "I'm looking for other opportunities but will choose my spot carefully."
That's why I included the "...for now".

He said he'll only go the NFL if he can coach both of his sons, and for that reason Dallas doesn't make sense. Taking on $103m in dead cap to trade Dak while also having to move up to draft Shedeur. I guess you could get that done in one deal but that would still be a terrible move.

If he leaves Boulder this year, my guess would be for Las Vegas although they're rumored to have zero interest in him.

Say what you will about Dak but moving off of him and trading up for Shedeur Sanders just to secure the coaching services of Deion Sanders would be 1) absolutely hysterical; and 2) realistically impossible.

COME ON JERRY DO IT

Oh it would be f***in' hilarious and just further cement Jerry's descent into madness.

If Prime goes pro he’s for sure looking at having a GM who knows what he is doing.
Also, if there is any thought about him coaching his son in the nfl, I don’t think that would go well for either father or son.

I think it's an absolutely terrible idea. Also, if I'm a player I'd want out of that locker room ASAP, no way I want any part of that media circus and nepotism.

I don't believe him for a second when it comes to needing to coach his boys. He just says that to pretend he's only listening but not chasing an NFL job.

If they can find someone to take Dak's albatross of a contract, the Cowboys would be beyond stupid to not jump on it.

he would have a dead cap hit of $104M if traded, and he has a no trade clause
Yep. He would have carried close to a $60 mill dead cap charge had they just played out the season for 2025. But, he got another SB which Dallas paid, thus the remaining unallocated amount would hit their books if they move off from him.

Pretty much assures he's a Cowboy and no chance to deal for Sanders.

But, he is going to be adjusting his contract every season as he would be a $90 mill cap charge for 2025 currently. Going to have to redo that $47.75 mill base salary.
And his guarantees for 26 and 27 vest basically a year early. He's set to be a $68 and $62 mill cap charge in 26 and 27.
